Located at the top of the main high street in Ross-on-Wye, The Obilash Restaurant and Take-Away is the first Indian in town. We have been established since 1985. Our ethos remains the same, which is to provide the highest quality of food using only the be
Iâve never had a bad curry from this place always spot on! I usually have a vindloo but decided to have an obilash special curry but vindloo hot and as normal it was not a problem as the special is medium. This was on par with one of the nicest curryâs Iâve ever had and Iâve tried a fair few over the years! Great staff and nothing is ever a problem Highly recommend 5++++ for me!

Turned up to the restaurant and the waiter was stood in the door way chatting to his mate and took ages to move to let us in. (This should have been a warning) once inside he told to sit down and started hoovering the Floor around us. He was then on the phone to what sounded like a mate shouting about personal life, he took ages to get our drinks which was simply 2 glasses of coke out of a big bottle (we were the only ones there!) he then answered the phone and said he was the manager. If this is the case, then he should not be on the floor. The finally once our food came he stood over us talking to us whilst we were trying to eat. In the chicken dish the chicken was pink and stringy. Would not recommend to anyone and will not be returning.Dear Amy I,m really sorry to here you a unfortunate experience in restaurant I will investigate your complaint further .I don't know which night you visited the restaurant if you could give me more information please,I would like to offer my unreserved apology . Popular local village Pub 100m from the River Wye. Serving excellent real ale, cider and lager. Incorporating a Microbrewery, Lydbrook Valley Brewing Co. Brewing 2 traditional cask ales, Lydbrook Valley I.P.A and Viaduct Ale. Our latest addition is a keg
My brotherâs 60th birthday celebrations were well planned and we sent our menu choices a few days beforehand as requested by the restaurant. We neednât have bothered. Despite valiant efforts by the two waiting staff there was chaos in the service. All the mains were served over a 15 minute period and only then did start serving the rice and naans. Everything was cold by the time the complete meal arrived and even then the food was not very good. What was the reaction of the manager? To blame his customers and become loudly belligerent towards us, even though we were polite and respectful to him. I doubt very much that they will learn lessons from our experience and will find reasons to avoid changing their ways. We were going to spend the rest of the evening there but settled the bill and left. We avoided it the following day for Sunday lunch, preferring a 4 mile walk instead. Itâs just around the corner from the River Wye Lodge (a lovely place to stay) but donât bother to take your party here. It didnât spoil our weekend as it was so bad it was like we were cast adrift together!

Indian restaurant bring your own beer and wine (Serve soft drinks) Been serving food in Ross on Wye since 2005 to present Zamzam is a family run business that have been serving good indian food for decades
We visited this restaurant on a Monday night whilst visiting Ross. It was already quite full of locals as they have a special deal at the beginning of the week with 4 courses for £12.95. We regularly eat curries at home and loved the food here. We could see that those in the know had brought their own alcohol but we were happy with the soft drinks on the menu. The service was quick and attentive. We had different main courses, one chicken and the other lamb but both deliciously hot with spices and chillies as requested. The staff were very friendly and took time to discuss the chillies used. Obviously very popular and rightly so. Shame we don't live nearer!

Went there on a Sunday night. Lovely and quiet. Waiters were a delight. Sweet and playful with kids. Food was full on LUSH. Happily recommend it to anyone who loves Indian food

This little place is at the end of Cinderton village; it was a Sunday night and there was a steady roll of locals collecting their takeaways, we were staying about three miles away at Speech House and fancied an Indian so sat in with the two person banquet. Both food and service here are outstanding, real quality flavoursome food cooked to order, good portions and great value for money. Service with a smile too, the waiter guy was attentive but not overly fussy, a very relaxed and enjoyable meal; we would certainly go back - highly recommended! Photos to follow....

We went to the restaurant with some customers, the popadoms were good, I then had samosas, they were huge, too big, but just consisted of potatoes and nothing else, no spice, and bland. I then had vegetable pathyia it consisted of over cooked potato, one strip of carrot and a piece of broccoli in a very sweet thick sauce, with again no spice, this should be a medium hot dish. We also had very over cooked and quite hard rice. Embarrassing for all as customer and supplier none of us wanted to complain. When we left the restaurant everybody commented how poor the food was, our customers said that the food was normally so good, and were quite shocked by what we were served. Possibly a change of chef, or just a really âoffâ night . Iâve had more spicy cottage pie in the past.

The Crown is a 15th Century family run traditional village pub with newly refurbished letting rooms. We served freshly cooked foods that are locally sourced where possible and offer great value. We specalise in home cooked foods, not bought in microwaved
Stayed close by so very convenient - not quite as attractive looking pub from the outside as it appears on the website - restaurant itself quite small, but luckily we were the only people in there, the lady who served us was really friendly. There was plenty of choice on the menu - nicest naan bread Iâve ever had, fresh & not like supermarket stodge! Think we over-ordered a bit as had a bit of a shock when the bill came (including drinks). Only downside I would say was the constant waft of cigarette smoke, which was a shame.

Went due to reviews on TA and really enjoyed the meal, quality of food was excellent. Really recommend a visit and we will return when in the area. Be aware it is a BYO restaurant but a few shops are local that can help if you want alcohol. Thanks for a great meal!
