Find out what European restaurants to try in Swansea. Birthplace of poet Dylan Thomas, and the second-largest city in Wales, resilient Swansea offers a slew of leafy parks and some impressive cultural centers, including the new National Waterfront Museum and the renowned Dylan Thomas Centre. Rebuilt after WWII, the modern city of 230,000 has a charming outlook over Swansea Bay and the picturesque, unspoiled 16-mile-long Gower Peninsula, home to rich wildlife, prehistoric standing stones, dramatic cliffs and lovely beaches.

Whist it may not be situated in a particular picturesque area of the city, the restaurant itself was great. Our waiter (David) took time to explain dishes and talk about which region they were from. House wine was good and prices reasonable but not cheap. Would recommend.

Lovely service, absolutely stunning food. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It was more than just a meal, it was an experience. We will go back again and again.Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely wine! What more could you ask for? I've eaten in most places in Swansea, this is hands down the best.

We enjoyed our dinner although we didn't think outstanding - would have been better is main came with some sort of dip eg hummus or yoghurt sauce. Busy and popular.

This is an excellent and reasonably authentic Italian eatery. It is comfortably set out and nicely decorated without people being too much on top of each other. The staff are cheerful and helpful and bring out the food and drink efficiently and quickly but you never feel that you are being hurried along. The only real negative is the lack of a disabled toilet (the regular ones provided are too low and there are no supporting rails).

Don't be put off by the surroundings outside - Oxford Street, Swansea has seen much better days. The restaurant is a haven - wooden floors, pine furniture and French metal chandeliers. The amuse-bouche was a nice surprise; my husband's scallops were the best ever; my duck parfait was tasty. We followed with breast of lamb and Bayonne chicken and shared a cheese board and a bottle of sauvignon blanc. All was faultless and served by a charming hostess.

What a lovely little place! The food was excellent, cooked to perfection. We had chicken and steak respectively and both were cooked just right. The service was excellent as well. A definite plus was the lack of loud music, it was possible to have a conversation rather than having to shout over loud music. Disappointed we did not find this earlier and went before.Thank you for the lovely comments. We're so glad you enjoyed your visit. Now you've found us, you can definitely come again. Look forward to seeing you in the future. Regards Yvonne and Paul

Visited this restaurant recently whilst in Swansea for a break. We were very impressed - the food is very tasty and we liked the hot grill located in the restaurant so you could see your food being prepared from fresh. The service was excellent and our hosts very hospitable. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

M-Bar Cafe & Restaurant is tucked away on the first floor of the 'Moda Collections' designer clothes boutique on the Kingsway, Swansea. We're open from 09:30 serving healthy breakfasts and brunches as well as our main menu which changes fortnightly. Last
OMG - I had a breakfast to die for! Rustic bread, avocado, halloumi, poached egg, tomato and chilli chutney. It was delightfully tasty and each mouthful had to be savoured. The only let down was the last mouthful, as it was delicious. A breakfast I would never have thought of putting together, it was wingding eat. It set me up for the day and inspired me to eat healthily (that day). The menu on the whole was very interesting and the choice for me was difficult. The lunch menu is equally appetising and there is a lunch time deal available. Don't miss this little gem that is hidden upstairs and at the back of the Moda Shop on the Kingsway. The staff are great and the boutique restaurant surroundings are comfortable and professional. Go give it a try

We visited Nomad based on the TripAdvisor reviews and we werenât disappointed. We had a lovely warm welcome and felt straight at home. We chose a bottle of crazy grape wine which was an amazing wine for the price, perfect with tapas. All the tapas were top quality and again very reasonably priced. Looking forward to our next visit

Vesuvio's Swansea is a Mediterranean restaurant and a tradicional Pizzeria located in Swansea, just across the liberty stadium. At Vesuvioâs you can enjoy a large variety of dishes from fresh fish to meat, pizza and pasta.
Early lunch with easy parking nearby. Good welcome and quick service. The lunch menu had varied choices with the full menu also available. All the dishes were well presented, looked good and tasted even better. Portion sizes were more than adequate, so no one should go home hungry! My only slight complaint was that the music was rather loud and possibly conversation stopping -- people on their phones didn't notice!! The total cost was a very acceptable £46 for two people including drinks and coffee. Two course lunch £12 per person - excellent value.
