Welcome and thank you for visiting the Motte & Bailey Cafe Trip Advisor page. Motte & Bailey Cafe is a traditional Cafe nestled in the heart of beautiful, historic Arundel. We open at 8.30am every day (except Sunday when we open at 9am) to make and serve
A lunchtime rush promised much yet delivered very little: a brief half an hour was spent in the cafe yet despondency amongst staff left customers feeling like an inconvenience. Requests for condiments were met with barely concealed irritation. The meals were adequate at best but there was disparity between the price of the food and what was delivered. Having ordered a dairy-free drink due to a lactose intolerance, a regular dairy drink was delivered. On querying the origins of the milk, staff bizarrely asked whether the lactose-intolerant customer would like to finish the drink. A further request for separate bills was met with clenched teeth and a barely concealed sigh. This constant neediness simply added a further dreary layer of tedium to the apparently already bored staffâs troublesome shift from hell. Apologies for inconveniencing you all.

This is a properly nice Italian, and not like your standard chain places having unusual food that's always tasty.Friendly staff and great service to.

My work colleagues and I stopped here on a Saturday after work when they had their Sausage and Ale festival on. They had an amazing selection of Ales and some delicious Sausages Available. Well kept Ales and delicious food. A great pub for a pint or two or 3

VENUEI've been to Portugal around 6 times and wasn't sure what to expect but looked forward to exploring what this venue had to offer. Located within arcade, entry through canteen style downstairs and upstairs into newly decorated restaurant area. Clean, simple interior with soft music and (sometimes) Portuguese TV. Prompt seating and order taking. Food came quickly. Just 2 other tables occupied and all of them Portuguese. FOOD/DRINKSMy date had the mixed grill and I had the swordfish special (not on menu) with a beer for him and a traditional poncha for me. Mixed grill was excellent and I kept stealing off his plate - genuinely flame grilled and it tasted beautiful. The swordfish was good and vegetables lovely but the batter in which the fish had been done put me off a little bit as it detracted from the fish itself though otherwise very good. Beer was good and as you'd expect. However the poncha was just excellent made with Portuguese moonshine; very punchy, moderately sweet mix of orange, lime and maybe passionfruit. HOSPITALITY/EXPERIENCE Friendly and helpful, very good attendance and all questions answered. Couldn't have asked for much more, especially at £38 final bill. Some small things to note: the stairs are a little steep and narrow, chairs wooden so not the most comfortable. Definitely going back!

Angmering Manor is a stunning country house hotel, located in the south coast village of Angmering. Thought to have been built by missionaries in the 16th century, it now offers 17 exquisitely appointed en-suite bedrooms, all decorated in a individual sty
Tucked away in Angmering, this is a charming hotel. It has a small comfortable bar and the restaurant overlooks beautiful gardens. The three course mid week lunch is extremely good value. The dishes are well presented. We all enjoyed our meals, however the stand out dish was sticky toffee pudding. It was our friends first visit and they said the best place they have been to for some time. I would agree, although it's no mire expensive than the pubs in the area, the experience is so much better, and feels a bit more special.

The Parsons Table showcases locally sourced, seasonal food, classic cooking, and incredible flavours using the best in traditional techniques. At the heart of the restaurant is unforgettable cooking, approachable service and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
Congrats to Lee & Liz once more on another of our meals supplied at one if not my favourite restaurants. Service, Staff and quality superb. We go normally on a special occasion, this time it was our 25 Wedding anniversary and as always I cannot thank everyone enough at restaurant for making it special again. 10 out of 10.

Went for family lunch. Heard so many good things about this place.Had to wait for table whilst cleaned, moving chairs etc. Very hot in restaurant.Ordered soup and fish starters. Nice and fresh, but pricey.Roast dinner nicely presented but nothing remarkable, just a roast.Too high priced really.Friend had fish and chips, again not impressed for price. Take away next door is better.Wouldn't rush back I'm afraid.
