we're lucky enough to have this fantastic pub within walking distance but rarely do we eat here in the evening as it's either booked out or we like to travel further afield but we booked in advance on a very busy Friday night but I have to say that the service and quality of food was not affected by the large volume of customers that evening. I have eaten here for lunch and most frequently breakfast and the service is always good. It still manages to strike a good balance between a local village pub and popular eatery. Well done to the team for getting the balance just right.

A Two AA Rosette restaurant and cocktail bar with exceptional freshly cooked food using the finest local sourced ingredients. The menu is modern European and provides a mix of refined dishes and urban dining. Gluten free, Vegan and Lactose Free dietary re
Regular customers of this bar/restaurant since it opened...itâs always been a no brainier go-to for a good meal with friends, as a couple, or cocktails with the girls. Something has definitely changed here though... the menu is now limited and ridiculously expensive, the service is slow and the young waiting staff had particularly vague knowledge regarding the menu. Food very much below average.. bland and uninspiring. Why take pizza off the menu? Yet leave a fully functional pizza oven taking up a quarter of the downstairs space? The pizzas were great.. and after all it is an Italian inspired restaurant...??It feels as if the owners have taken their eyes off the ball... the decor is looking tired, particularly the downstairs leading to the toilets and the toilets themselves... locks not working etc. Really, really disappointing overall.Cocktails still good and bar area buzzy and vibrant. Just donât eat here. Oh, and they no longer serve Guinness either...Dear GDSNJHWe're so sorry you had a disappointing experience at Amalfi White. To explain a few of the points you have raised:MenuWe cater for all dietary requirements, on our current a la carte menu we offer 10 starters and 11 main dishes - this is a huge choice for a quality establishment such as Amalfi White. We have NO microwaves, no pre made sauces, all our dishes are cooked fresh to order. Our ingredients are of the highest quality. The menu has a great range of price options from a burger for £11.50 all the way to Beef Wellington made by our own Chefs for £30. We also have a under £10 lunch menu which is of excellent value. We have separate menus for gluten-free, lactose and vegan customers. We run Tapas Thursday nights to mix things up a bit and do an excellent Sunday roast set menu. In terms of range of menu it's pretty awesome for a five day a week operation in a village.PizzaOur lovely pizza oven is still very much in use! It's used 2 to 3 times a week when we cater for events in our Ballroom. It is a very important asset the business but just does not work for us restaurant side which is why we have removed it from our daily menu. Our chefs are now all together in the kitchen working off the one particular menu of the day meaning that we can utilise our team better and create more excellent quality core menu dishes for our customers. Our BuildingAfter a busy summer the building has definitely had a great use, and we have had the maintenance team in full swing so all of your items that you mention in your review above are now fixed. The paint has dried and it looks amazing. GuinnessWe're sorry you are disappointed we don't have Guinness on draught any more - its just not popular enough with our customers to go through the volume and we were throwing away kegs of it however we do have surger cans if you wish to enjoy one with us.StaffingAlways this time of year we have the old guard leave us to go to University and we have an influx of new staff. It takes a few days for everyone to settle in and you must have got us on an off day. I'm so sorry however the recent training has gone really well and everyone is working together. We hope this has answered your points above, and thank you for taking the time to review.Kindest regards,AW

We were entertained by our daughter and son-in-law to a Champagne Breakfast to celebrate a new job. This is one of their favourite ways to celebrate and we could see why.A leisurely start to the day, we were booked into the first sitting for breakfast at 10.30, arriving to find our table all set up (with ice bucket on stand nearby) and the place buzzing with customers, a mixture of ages, some groups, others clearly families like us.You can opt for either Prosecco or Champagne and each guest also has a small carafe of orange juice by one's place setting, giving you the option of just drinking juice or converting your fizz into Bucks Fizz.Breakfast is served in three courses, fruit and cereal based options for the first course, a lovely choice of mains (including the 'Full English') and toast with preserves and coffee or tea for the final course, if you still have room.Chairs are comfortable, tables laid with proper linen and napkins and a pleasant environment in which to sit. The restaurant was busy, with all tables taken and, if you are well covered you might have to 'squeeze ' through to access the toilets on the first floor - tables located at the very front, nearer the entrance were a little more spaced out.Staff were young and friendly, we didn't encounter any service issues mentioned in other reviews, in fact, on our third course, no less than three people came over to our table to apologise for the delay in serving my coffee, which was due to the coffee machine having to be refilled.I started with a poached fruit compote, topped with creme fraiche and toasted split almonds - rich and syrupy and delicious. My daughter had a lovely apple strudel oatmeal, topped with sultanas and cinnamon and the men both went for granola based dishes with fruit. For my main course I opted for a toasted bagel, filled with fresh pear, caramelised onion (really sweet and tasty) and cheese and served with smoked bacon and either a poached or fried egg; most unusual and surprisingly filling. We felt completely unrushed and relaxed - a novel way to go out and celebrate - and we didn't need lunch!I would thoroughly recommend giving it a go.Good evening Fifty Fifty5050Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. We are so thrilled that you enjoyed your recent visit for Champagne Breakfast with us here at The Bay Tree.Thank you again for the positive comments, which mean so much to us all and we will of course read out your review in our daily meeting so everyone can hear not just from us but from our guests too.We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

My friend and I visited on a quiet Thursday lunchtime! Waitress was nice and food was good! Do think that the toilets need an upgrade though

I wouldn't say that there is anything extraordinarily exceptional about this restaurant but then again it doesn't set itself out to be anything other than a good local, restaurant. Food is good and tasty, well-presented, nice quality, reasonably price - I was not disappointed. My only criticism is that it was a bit noisy as a lot of the tables were for large groups and the waiting staff didn't seem particularly knowledgeable and were not overly attentive. Would return but am not in a rush to do so.

This was our first visit with friends for an evening meal to celebrate my birthday. The welcome was very friendly; the service was quick and efficient; the meals were excellent (my wife is Gluten Free and her diet did not cause any problems); and the portions were more than ample. This mea was a real birthday treat.

Seasonal food served daily, offering breakfast, lunch, tapas, afternoon tea & dinner in a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere
Absolutely fantastic selection of cakes (too many to mention) delicious raspberry lemonade perfect for a sunny day. Thoroughly enjoyed by all, sandwich selection was limited to egg mayo, ham & mustard ( not a fan of mustard) & pickle with some cheese (maybe ease up on the pickle), other choices may be preferred by some but the sausage rolls, pork pie were lovely & warm also great scones! Clotted cream would have enhanced it but definitely worth the money, pleasant surroundings for a great catch up with friends.

Gin Bar & Restaurant, selection of over 200 Gins. Serving champagne breakfasts, lunches, dinners and Sunday roast.
Went here last night after reading good reviews! A table was booked on Thursday for the following night with a few times being offered. All staff encountered were pleasant food arrived very quickly cod and sun-dried tomato tart. Food was acceptable but over seasoned veg and both quite dry dishes. Gins were lovely but we were charged for an incorrect drink we were served ( and sent back) and its replacement. We probably won't return.

We visited as quite a large group (12) for dinner. They weren't quite ready for us when we arrived so we had to wait, however there is quite a charming courtyard outside where we were able to get a drink. We were seated quite quickly. The menus reminded me more of a café than a restaurant in their feel but seemed to have something for everyone. I went for pizza which was ok but my colleagues dinners looked nicer. The staff were very good and looked after us well. All in all it was ok.
