We visited for an evening meal following the change from mainly daytime to mainly evening service. The place has been totally transformed with new deco, tables etc and is very impressive. The pizzas were extremely good, the sweet potato fries excellent and the Italian ice cream exceptional. Weâll definitely become regular evening visitors.

Shepherds Hall was built in 1873 and was a meeting place for the Loyal Order of Ancient Shepherds. It is now a fabulous tea rooms, craft gallery and has a lovely tea garden along with ample free parking. A lovely relaxed atmosphere, home baking and food p
Got tables indoors and outdoors and a great menu of light bites and more substantial food, plus cakes and puddings. We had some sandwiches and pop which had good ingredients and were cut well, with salad and crisps. Good value and the people serving were friendly and cheerful, so definitely recommend this place if your passing or visiting. Thanks.Thank you for your review and mentioning our staff. We think they are fab and do an amazing job for us.

Classic dishes are our favourites so that's what we serve, using modern cookery to bring them up to date. The kitchen team has a total of 42 years professional cooking experience and double that living by the sea. They know a good looking fish when they s
Lovely food but so slow to deliver ,had drunk our bottle of wine before we got the fourth course ! 3 hours altogether Dear farmeggs, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We would have loved to know what you thought about our food. We're sorry that the tasting menu took too long for you, we do explain when booking that we ask people to arrive between 7pm & 7:30pm and people usually leave 9:45pm - 10pm. Perhaps any of our other services, lunch and dinner, where we serve a la carte would have been more suitable. Kind regards, Bridge Cottage

Cracking store with everything from farm/pet food/supplies through to garden tools and diy products. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly in a well laid out busy shop. The store also has a very good restaurant/cafe at the rear, with a reasonably priced menu. Stopped for coffee and cake and both were superb.

Cafe/Bar in Skinningrove within walking distance of the Cleveland Way and the beach. Food is served between 11am and 8.30pm Monday - Saturday. We are dog friendly so you can bring your best friend to dine with us!
We happened upon this little cafe/restaurant by following the signs for the Ironstone Museum. Sadly this Museum was closed for refurbishment so we had a coffee and scone at Kaskane. The bar and eating area was bright and airy. Huge plates of food were coming out from the kitchen and trade was busy. The service was very rushed and we felt, as passing trade, that because we were not eating our custom was not appreciated. This was due to the service. We started order and then another person who was about to pay was dealt with half way through our ordering process. The tea came in a mug and a teabag rather than a decent English cuppa served out of a teapot. I love a great cuppa properly served. The scone was rather tasteless and unappetising. We looked at the cottages which were next door to the bar and did find them at all appealing. Their outlook was car parks to front and back.I don't think we'll venture here again eventhough we are frequent visitors to Sandsend. It is a shame. It all seemed a bit of a hotchpotch of a place.
Can not recommend this little gem enough. The owner is so friendly and welcoming, always a smile and a chat & works so hard to provide a fabulous service for locals and visitors in this lovely coastal village. The breakfast are excellent and such good value for money. We have visited several times now & always receive the same warm welcome. Weâll definitely be back when in the area again. Must try the lunches or evening meals! All again amazing value. The fact so many local people use it speaks for itself!

On our recent visit to the area, we made a detour to Runswick Bay around lunchtime. It was a beautifully warm September day and we found a table on the side of the cafe, which was a veritable sun trap. We went in to chose our lunch and saw immediately that they did crab sandwiches - no contest, that was the choice for both of us, one on white, one on brown. Absolutely excellent, plenty of crabmeat in both and a great cup of coffee for me. So we sat in our sun trap, with the wide sweeping Runswick Bay in from of us - what more could you want?

Absolutely no issues with staying at the stars above flat. It was very clean, it had quality fitments and lovely views from the skylights. The owner greeted us with scones and jam which was a nice touch. Hinderwell is about 9 miles from Whitby and other coastal villages so is an ideal place to stay. There are two pubs in the village but one is closed on Monday and Tuesday and the other is a bit grotty. The head room in the flat is low in places and I hit my head a few times, so if youâre tall, beware. That said we loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Came here before the Staithes Remembrance Service with my Mother and it was wonderful. Lovely staff, tasty food, warm and comfortable setting... Just the sort of thing needed on such a day. Will be making return visits in future!
