The Haunted Bar, cafe. Good quality cocktails, shisha garden. All day breakfast, vegetarian, vegan options, home made food. At times we do psy trance, house parties. Quirky UV decoration
I visited with friends for lunch and was so glad that we braved the haunted decor! They offer all day breakfast, burgers and paninis etc. But the specials menu was fab. Tons of interesting salads, and wraps and lots of veggie food. Soup was so good that I asked for the recipe and the chef came out to tell me! Kitchen is on view and immaculate too. We sat in the courtyard garden and had coffee (bonus points for offering almond milk) in the sunshine and it was lovely. I will definitely be back.

First visit despite walking past hundreds of times. I knew it would be good and the double espressos and croissant exceeded expectations but what great value and service too. Miles better and cheaper than the chain coffee shops. Canât wait to return for a spot of lunch.

Coffee shop serving great food and drink in an authentic Italian ambiance.
My friend had an omelette with delicious prawns and salmon; I had a simple pasta in tomato sauce and we shared a tray of enormous olives. The food was fresh, piping hot and extremely tasty. The girls serving were friendly, helpful and working their socks off. So impressed that I posted a photo on Facebook. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

We are a friendly and independent café bistro serving a wide range of Portuguese, English, and Brazilian meals alongside lighter options including salads, Portuguese savouries, sandwiches, Panini's, and a beautiful range of Portuguese cakes and pastries.
I visited with my husband for brunch, upon going to the outer we were told that we would have to wait for approximately 15/20 minutes, quite understandable. We waited over 30mins with out cup of tea. More people came, regulars, my husband said that we were getting near to running out of time in the car park. So he went to the counter and cancelled his food, saying that l would still wait for mine. I waited another 15minutes, still no food and l was totally ignored. Meanwhile other customers in the cafe were being served with desserts. I had enough and walked out just as my husband arrived outside the cafe to pick me up. Needless to say we will not be going there again, we wasted £20, that's a lot just for 2 cups of tea! Many thanks for taking the time out to leave this review, I can see from the fact you haven't even had the time to put a profile picture on, that time is very precious to you. Given that this is such a scathing review, I decided to fact check as such a review can be so detrimental to a small, independent, family run business as ours. Your order was placed at 13:28 while we were at full capacity of 12 tables, a classic sign of a lack of good customer service (I believe you and your wife had the last available table). When you ordered I was clear that there would be a wait of some time, as other tables were before you, and as you correctly stated we prepare fresh food. This is something I do with all customers when there are orders in, and at no point did I give you a timescale of 20 minutes, so that you could make a decision whether to order or not. You ordered nevertheless and didn't mention at any time about parking restrictions you had or I would have happily said there and then that it would not be achievable. I'm not sure how you came to your timings, as I checked via our CCTV and you left at 14:05 (37 minutes), and your wife at 14:16 (48 minutes)? Had you given me the opportunity I would have happily refunded you but you had already left without once before mentioning time restrictions, and your £20 refund will be waiting for you if you would like to come and get it, we're open 8-4pm Monday to Saturday. Feel free, as is your right, to post another review on trip advisor, I will be happy to copy and paste this same response so that our potential customers can have both sides to the story and come to their own decisions. If on a busy Saturday in the future you require a meal in a more timely manner, may I suggest the excellent Greggs on The Parade.

We booked Lighthorne Pavillion Cafe for our mumâs wake in May. All we can say is that Ben and his team did us proud. The food served was delicious and plenty to go round. Tea and coffee was served in vintage crockery which helped to make it all just perfect. The sun was shining so we were able to sit both inside and out. Thank you so much for making a very sad day a pleasant one.
Two of us visited this cafe for lunch on Thursday 27th April 2018. The cafe was cold (2 doors open causing a through draft and a ceiling fan was on). Perhaps this was deliberate to try to reduce the strong smell of fried food! We ordered paninis. One brie, bacon and cranberry sauce which we asked for without the cranberry sauce! It arrived smothered in the stuff!!! If it hadnât taken so long to arrive we would have sent it back and reordered. But due to needing to be at an appointment we didnât have time to wait for another panini to be prepared! All in all very disappointing!

Cafe 16 manage to do, on a daily basis, what others find tricky. Great food, reasonable prices, brilliant service and a pleasant unpretentiousness atmosphere. The family that run it, plainly care about what they do and thatâs reflected in all of the above; how could it not be...Recommend.
