Traditional meals and snacks served. Daily Special lunch served. Home-made soup. Homemeade scones and cakes. Home-cooked food. Waitress Service. Outside courtyard and seating at front of premises. Tempting cakes, puddings, desserts and ice cream sundaes.
What a friendly, welcoming cafe. The food is all home-made - the quiches, cakes (including gluten-free), the soup and the artisan bread, baked at their on-the-premises bakery. The owners also own the artisan bakery, Breaking Bread Durham.I don't know how they cooked the mushrooms in the omelette but they were much more tasty than when I make mushroom omelette at home. It is served with an accompanying side salad or a jacket potato as well if you are as hungry as I was. The coffees were also very good.We were in Bishop Auckland to visit Auckland Tower - one of the attractions of the Auckland Project. This cafe is conveniently located just a one-minute walk away from the tower, on the market place itself. For its relaxed friendly ambience and the quality of the food, in my view this is most definitely the best cafe on that market place.

A neighbourhood café based in West park in Darlington. Serving hot and cold drinks, fab breakfast, great brunch, lunch and dinner to eat in or take away.
Just passing and called in for a quick bite to eat. Had a really nice sandwich from the specials board and the drinks were good too. A little more expensive than your run of the mill cafe but well worth it. Will definitely visit again quite fancy the Sunday brunch, it sounds like a good excuse for a get together. Thanks for the review Alan, itâs always good to read when someone has enjoyed their visit! Check our Facebook page or website for details of further upcoming events and we hope to see you again soon!

First visit and first impressions were great. Clean, tidy cafe and efficient staff who all made us feel very welcome. Seems to attract people to sit in as well as those buying food to take away.I was particularly surprised that we were looked after by 4 different staff members; order taken, then served with drinks then food and then being asked if we were ok and would we like more drinks. Good to be treated like that.Thank you so much for your lovely review and really glad you enjoyed your visit, one of many I hope.
Standard selection of hot drinks and sandwiches, nothing special but at a reasonable price. The team don't seem to have any direction and can't seem to make eye contact or smile. My wife was made to feel very uncomfortable whilst waiting. We will stick to Costa I think
Where to eat Pub food in Newton Aycliffe: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Decided to try the latest addition to Aycliffeâs coffee emporiums on a Friday afternoon. Initially impressed with the decor and comfortable seating, however, when we arrived there was a table with dirty cups etc which was still uncleared 20 minutes later. A barista had delivered our order to the table, but ignored the dirty table. A couple had come in and moved the dirty tray from their table, their order was delivered to them but the dirty dishes were not collected. A barista did clear one table, but left the others despite their being 3 staff behind the counter and it not being very busy. Itâs disappointing that the staff are allowing tables to remain uncleared when the venue has just opened. There was also a large stack of cardboard by the table with condiments etc on. Surely these could have been stored away from the customer area.

Been a few times since my first review and always warm welcome. Simple system choose sandwich from fridges hand over at counter where order your drinks sit down and relax. Staff then take over and bring everything to your table. Pleasant surroundings to sit in.

We wanted a light lunch so chose the savoury cream tea of large and beautifully light cheese scones served with cream cheese, cheddar cheese and pickle plus an excellent quality cup of coffee. We were treated to live 50's singing too. Prices are very reasonable.

Called in on motorbike ride. This proves still to be a great coffee stop also offering super home made cakes and hot snacks. When we were there there was a couple on horseback, a young child with parents and two bikers. A real eclectic mix. But it is good! Very welcoming, great quality coffee and food, well worth a visit; Rosie helped my friend find nearby cashpoint offering to cook his food order while he left to find the cash machine so it was ready when he returned. Now you cannot ask for more friendly service than that.

It must be difficult running somewhere like this and I hope the proprietor is able to make a success of it. The sausage sandwich was tasty but the "cappucino" was too hot and too milky. Needs more practice. Prices are good but it would help if more locals ate there rather than buying from the traditional sandwich van.
