Located in the the Market Place, Upstairs at Jacks offers a unique dining experience in Devizes, with views over the Market place, sit and relax over a coffee and breakfast of a morning or visit for a light lunch. Upstairs also transforms into a Tapas bar
Me and friend came here for an evening meal, both being huge Tapas fans. The atmosphere was great, the building is ace and the staff were fantastic. I was however, quite dissapointed in the menu. There was a large ammount of 'fried' tapas on the menu and from what I could gather none of it made on site which is dissapointing. The stuffed peppers were tasty but resembled the ones I normally purchase from the supermarket - so much so that i suspect that is what they are. The Gambas was not Gambas Pil Pil but out of the bag prawns with a bit of a lacklustre pil pil sauce. The menu also had baked camembert which although is great - I wouldn't really call this spanish tapas - maybe there are some other alternatives which could be sued - there are some great cheese tapas dishes out there. Also the mushrooms with manchego was particularly bad - a pot of sauted mushrooms topped with an almost cheddar style of grilled manchego - I actually wonder if it was cheddar?I think this place has some great potential, but I do think the menu could do with a bit of rethink from a chef or someone who knows spanish tapas. And independent cheese dish with figs or honey would be nice. A few more veg dishes would be fantastic, some proper shell on prawns and less of the generic 'purchased' fried goods. There are some great tapas resturants about the in South West these days and its a shame that this doesn't quite live up to expectations.

Set in the grounds of thei dairy farm the glass fronted cafe offers spectacular views and delicious food made from local produce. There are 16 different flavours of ice cream on display which is made on site fresh from their own cows milk. There are child
Visited here a few years ago and it was great. Today was not so good. Ice cream was nothing special. In fact the salted caramel tasted like supermarket bought and was quite expensive. We sat outside and I have never seen so many flies. At one point we counted 18 flies crawling around our table. There was extra entertainment, but it cost £5 per child. Several children were stung by nettles. Not sure I'll be visiting again soon!

Went for an English breakfast with a coffee.Staff inside were really friendly, cafe looks smart after its refurbishment too. Food isn't toovery pricey either. However, the food itself was average at best. Chewy bacon, the worlds cheapest sausages (flour and a sprinkle of meat in a plastic tube) and coffee was pretty bad. Worst of all though was the manager sitting outside, chain smoking, necking redbull and swearing like a sailor. All for other guests including kids to listen to and breath in the smoke. - Classy.

Visited Chippenham today amongst other places and stumbled upon this café. The café is very quaint with lots of Irish memorabilia and slogans plastered over the walls, which we liked as we spent some time reading them. The lady who served us (I'm assuming the owner) was lovely, we placed our order and asked if there was a toilet on the premises, she told us that because it was a listed building, there wasn't, however there was a public toilet just round the back but we would need 20p to gain access. She then offered us the 20p, which we didn't accept as we had some 20p's. I thought this was a nice touch. I also had a nice chat with the owner about Ireland (I was there with the Army back in 1995) and she is very friendly. I ordered the Irish breakfast, which comes with Black and White pudding, bacon, sausage, beans, soda bread and I also added on a pancake type thingy, which for the life of me I can't remember but it began with a B. The breakfast was delicious. Overall, can't fault the place, good value, friendly, clean and fun. Will be going again when we are in the area.

My partner and I thought we would come and try Infusions for lunch today. Well We wish we hadnât bothered after a very poor experience today. It took over 50 minutes for our simple paniniâ store arrive and when they did mine was cold! Also during our wait our 3 month old daughter required changing, which I thought would be simple only to find no facilities available! Well after this not so wonderful 1 1/2 hour experience I think it is clear to say we will not be frequenting this disappointing establishment again. I would most certainly not recommend this to anyone!

Calnes newest family owned and run coffee shop , wine bar and restaurant. Always offering somewhere airy and welcoming to meet friends, have a business meeting or just hang out for an hour with possibly the best coffee in the area. If you are looking for
Now that it has moved into Calne centre (Trip Advisor or Owners should change the address) it is more accessible. The owner and his family are very welcoming and the atmosphere is warm and classy. I am not sure why other reviewers moan about the short menu - I love them and there is still plenty to choose from. This is a avocado and bacon cafe not a greasy spoon cafe and the prices are to match.I love the coffee (always good choice here) and the breakfasts are delicious. I don't mind a little wait (time for a second coffee!) as I know the food is freshly cooked and they do not skimp on the quality of the ingredients. This is what Calne needs to raise it's profile and quality of its offering - well done.

Good food with An asian Twist. We are Vegan, vegetarian and Gluten Free friendly. We also have a separate Menu for Vegan. We have the usual Panini Baguette Toasties Sandwiches Jacket potatoes Mains and desserts also available.
the two of us arrived to get one of the last two tables, so yes it was busy. But waited 10 mins to order and another 30 before one drink arrived! during which time we were advised there were no more Jacket potatoes, wish we were told on ordering, anyway changed order to brown bread sandwich, 5 mins later advised not enough brown bread left, so order changed again, eventually food arrived but still had to remind about second drink. It may of been busy, but, either get more staff, or train the existing to manage better. The coronation chicken was also too spicy for my wife to eat so most was left - more like a spicy curry apparently. Shame as I am sure when not busy and when stocked with enough food I am sure it could of been so much better, plus good choices for gluten free and Vegan menu. Nice cuppa though !I apologised from the bottom of my heart.I am truly wasnt prepared for the busy period on Saturday. Usually 1 staff is enough helping me throughout the day. Based on our daily service. But that day, A football team from Southampton arrived with out any booking, about 25 people, children and adult and asked mostly for Sandwiches. So most of our bread were gone. Getting a staff at the last minute is really hard too especially on the weekend so no one is available. We have no time to buy more ingredients as we started to get busy again after they have left. Apparently, there was a spring sing at the town centre and I dont even know it was on. Ordering. I do make all the food, made to order, first come, first served basis, so most of our ingredients are from fresh. Base of how much we sold everyday, we roughly estimate of how many item we have to stock everyday. So I am sorry if they are sold out by the time you came that day. So when you arrived, I already have loads of order in the kitchen that I am preparing and cooking for about 20 people not including your order. My staff should have mention that you will have to wait longer for your order as soon as you arrived. But my staff which already panicking but still doing his best, forgot to mentioned also about the sold out item and he apologised to me and I do apologsied to you on his behalf. For the coronation chicken sandwich. I made the sauce to order too and do tried the sauce first before serving, for me, it wasnt hot, but I am really sorry if they were to you. I will practice and make a new recipe to cater for everyone. Anyway, if both of you would like to come back and try again, please book your table and will make sure to give you a better service next time and give you a free meal to make up for the lost time and money you spent last Saturday.I really hope you give us another chance. Sincerely Tess

Freshly prepared breakfast, lunch plus afternoon tea. Great cakes , coffee and a selection of leaf teas.
Another visit to the Divine Cafe, now in Calne town, as you drive through on the A4 main street, with parking nearby. This really is an enchanting place to visit with a warmly welcoming Continental feel to it and the most delicious food cooked by proprietor Marc's consistently outstanding wife and seriously accomplished chef and wife Jane. The notion of genuine home-made food is so often disappointing, and we all know of homes where its eating OUT that is a treat! But Jane and Marc always serve dishes that meet the dreamy ideal. On this occasion all I needed was a quick snack and, although it was teatime, a most succulent large sausage roll was produced, so warm, indulgent, and flavoursome that I had to take a supply home for a prolonged orgy there. ( Plus a tender, invitingly fresh, rock cake that seduced me on the way out!)This couple and their charming, well trained young staff really do know what really good food is all about, and their wine bar service in the evenings has become a lovely, lively place to visit just like the best friendly family owned French bar.A refreshing place, well worth going out of your way to see what can be achieved by real enthusiasts (at modest prices) in a happy relaxing place.
