We ducked into this café for a lunch on a rainy afternoon after hiking to the Devilâs Pulpit. It was cozy and warm. I had the poached salmon served with delicious small potatoes and a sauce as well as a country salad (rocket, beans, cucumber, lettuce, and beets). All delicious. My friend had the three Welsh sausages (not very spicy) served with gravy and mashed potatoes which looked and was reported as being very good. We finished our meals with coffee and homemade muffins â also excellent.

Lovely experience in the middle of nowhere. Initial wafer snack delivered massively more taste than an identical looking offering from Restaurant Gordon Ramsay later in the week. Other outstanding taste sensations from fermented carrot, black pudding, heritage tomatoes, dexter beef. Great job.

Went to the Inn on a recommendation from where we were staying in Tintern. We were not disappointed!! The barmaid was extremely welcoming and obviously could tell we were not locals. The drinks and food were all well priced. The food was amazing!!Although the Inn quickly filled with locals we were not made to feel unwelcome or unwanted. A definite place to go to if staying or visiting Tintern.

The restaurant at the Royal George is called the Wild Hare. The wait staff were great. Very helpful and they were more than eager to answer our questions regarding the menu. My wife started with the smoked duck and I had the pork belly, both were delicious. We both had the same main which was the pan fried cod. Absolutely perfect! Seasonal veg to go with it. Our wine was a Pinot Noir from New Zealand. Dessert was the cheese platter for 2 with port. Overall a very delicious and satisfying meal!

Had a family lunch here as we were visiting the Abbey. Food was awful - badly presented, terrible tasting and evidently made using lowest quality ingredients.Service was curt and unfriendly to say the least. Place is very shabby and worn - cleanliness/appearance left a lot to be desired. Suffice to say if it wasnât for the favourable position next to Tintern Abbey I cant imagine anyone would ever eat here. We left most of our lunch uneaten - and at £25 for some sandwiches for 4 people - it wasnât cheap.Wouldnât recommend.

Great evening, good pub food, nice beer and great value. A little quiet but customer numbers down to the road closure which I hope doesnât have long term effects to the pub. Friendly & helpful landlord. Lovely walk opposite through churchyard to river bank walkWell worth a stop

Welcome to The Rose and Crown (Tintern Steakhouse) a small country pub on the banks of the River Wye. The Pub has log fires and a warm friendly atmosphere dealing in locally sourced steaks and a vast menu to choose from. Most of our menu is homemade and c
