Very cheap drinks and a lovely, friendly woman serving but not really sure what this place is trying to be. Lacks a clear identity. Not sure if it is newly opened. Tatty cushions on bar stools. Very central location. Seemed quite popular with the locals.
Went for a birthday meal and I've got to say the steak pie was one of the best I've ever taster. Steak was so tender and the gravy was mouth watering. Very welcoming and friendly.
I always go to toasted in Thorne when in the area.Best hot chocolate in the area , meal sizes are always bigger than the price real value .Ask for slice of chunky toast not 2 you dont need 2.And the breakfast baps they are big.

Never again after 15 years of good service ,new staff portions have shrunk service has gone to the dogs very very disappointed what a shame. Was the best in Doncaster now the worst sorry. We aim in training all our staff to have high customer service skills & all our fish is delivered fresh daily, along with other daily fresh preparations from our chefs / cooks & service staff. We are sorry you were disappointed on your previous visits but please do try us again and if a problem arises donât hesitate to ask for someone in charge to share your complaint so we can assist, kind regards, Harrys
Excellent quality foods and drinks for those who like tea you have a choice of Tetley, Yorkshire and Typhoo. Excellant friendly service ideal for parents with children. Uniquie building being a the formerYorkshire Bank.Thank you so much for your great review we hope to see you again :D
We have been to this wonderful restaurant many times and on each occasion the food has been exquisite. The owner has recently laid on a glorious spread for a special family occasion serving the most wonderful fish and chips, which was more like whale and chips. Today as a family of 4 and friends we sat down to a wonderfully cooked Sunday dinner at £11 per adult and £9 per child for a 3 course home made meal making it excellent value for money. The staff are very friendly and the lady who owns the tea room is a lovely person who will try to accommodate all dietary needs. We would highly recommend this tea room, and well worth a detour should you be passing Thorn.

I wrote a review a while ago regarding this pub; It wasnât a positive one. However I have now visited the place since new management took over and things have turned around immeasurably. The food is lovely. My wife and I have visited twice in the last few months for lunch and have not been let down. Beer is great and the team are pleasant, as well as friendly.Thank you so much for your kind review! We hope to see you again soon!

Canters bistro, in the picturesque village of Old Cantley, South Yorkshire serving lunches including traditional Sunday lunch Wednesday-Sunday, dinner Thursday-Saturday. Serving fish, steaks, seafood, pasta etc. in a stylish contemporary bistro setting.
We visited last Saturday after a recommendation from friends. The risotto was recommended in particular and I was really looking forward to it. ....but the menu had changed!I mentioned this to the waitress and she told the chef....who made it for me specially! It was gorgeous and so was everything else we had - and they gave us 10% off our food even though we had forgotten the voucher. Lovely place, very friendly and welcoming, excellent service and great food (and wine âº). We will definitely be back and wish you every success!Hi Andrea,Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review after your visit to Canters. We pride ourselves in our food and service, our chefs will always try and accommodate requests if possible, so glad you enjoyed your food, wine, and service. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
