We visited Wildings for a bite to eat at lunch time. We were very impressed! Patricia and Az the owners were very welcoming and friendly, with nothing too much trouble. My husband had the fish finger sandwich, and I opted for hot roast beef baguette. Both portions were generous and very tasty. The beef was beautifully cooked and tender. We finished off with tea & cakes. The cakes are homemade and again were generous and delicious. The weather wasn't so great but when the sun is out you can sit outside overlooking the river, which we will return to do. Great location, food and good value. Thank you!

Previous reviews that grumble about servers' attitudes, need to try working in this kind of business. My wife and I are veterans of the hospitality industry and understand how one awkward customer can affect the rest of your day, no matter how well you trained yourself to turn the other cheek. When we there, the light lunch was excellent - well prepared and presented. We had to wait a while for a table however, and when we finally got seated in this rather tiny cafe, we discovered one of the reasons for the delay. At another table, a couple who had long since finished their meal and beverages were poring over their travel guide and maps, monopolising a table for four, while other customers waited outside to be seated. They did this for about fifteen minutes, but the staff were too busy preparing and serving others, to suggest that they make way for others. I found this a little surprising, but clear evidence of a patient commitment to friendly service. Sometimes the customer is not "always right", but it takes a lot of willpower to turn the other cheek.. As to the food? Quality and value were great for a luncheon - nobody suggests this is meant to be fine dining.

Called to see a relative on holiday near Pateley Bridge and went to Sportsmanâs for lunch. 3 of us had pork/ham/beef with salad and chips very pleased with food and presentation. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately hikers kept leaving the door open letting in cold drought while we were eating they could see we kept getting up to shut the door, how rude some people are. That would not stop us visiting again when in the area and would definitely recommend. We phoned the day before to see if they allow dogs and they do in the bar. The bar was a very nice area. Car park.

The crown inn is a l7th century public house with restaurant and rooms in the heart of a.N.O.B. Nidderdale, on the high street of pateley bridge, offering yorkshire hospitality, fantastic local produce cooked to a high standard by our team of chefs. What
After a mornings walking around Fountains Abbey and Studley Waters decided to drive into Pately Bridge for lunch. Our venue of choice has always been the Crown Inn and we have never been disappointed. With a very good menu and wine list and also daily specials we have always come out in favour of the daily specials. The 3 of us had a bottle of wine a large coke and 3 mains from the specials board. All well prepared and excellent value for money with the bill coming in at around £25 per person..

The Royal Oak is a small country pub located in the dales town of Pateley Bridge. We are open and serve good homemade food 12 - 9 pm everyday. Catering for couples families and parties up to 20 people.
Visited with a bunch of older gentlemen, booked a table which wasn't vacated by our booked time so the staff did everything they could to keep us happy. Which they did! They kitchen staff were busy bee's as well, no slackers there. The food is good quality pub food with a few different dishes, there's one for every taste. One of our party is a vegan (there's always one!) The chef offered to knock up a dish if he wasn't happy with the couple already on offer, how good is that? Thank to all.

Called in over the weekend after a long walk with the family for an early Sunday dinner.Having not been to the Bridge for a year or so, we were very impressed and will certainly return soon. We struggled to choose from the menu as everything sounded just what we were after and looked even better as we saw food being served. The food was perfect, hearty and plentiful, also well priced. The pale ale was spot on. What makes this place we felt were the friendly staff and jovial atmosphere. Friendly locals and new customers chatting and mixing well. Thanks folks, see you soon.

I wish I could visit this place every week- It really is the absolute best! There is always a great selection of delicious cakes and scones on offer and to sit outside, enjoying the stunning views over nidderdale is such a treat! After a nearby walk on a sweltering bank holiday I was desperate to make it to toft gate barn before it closed. Our mint aero cake and carrot cake were wonderful! The staff our always friendly and helpful and I just love it!

Harefield Hall is an over 16's, family run venue, set in 24 acres of beautiful woodland overlooking Nidderdale. Our meals range from a-la-carte to bar meals, catering for all food allergies. Our produce is all sorced locally we we take pride in our meals.
Last night of our Yorkshire tour and glad we picked this venue for our farewell dinner.Classy looking building with well managed gardens and surroundings. Impressive entry into the bar/restaurant.Although they serve food in the bar, we chose to eat in the main dining room. Spacious and well decorated with interesting paintings etc, around the place, it had a good atmosphere about it. Staff were prompt, attentive and friendly throughout. My starter was fishcakes with salad and a delightful Lemon infused sauce - delicious, whilst my wife went for another fish dish comprising mussels and prawns. Equally pleasing I'm assured. My haddock and chips was excellent, batter perfectly crispy with thick white and tasty fish within. My wife's pork belly and cackling was a sight to behold - beautifully presented and so much that we took half the meat home in a bo they supplied. Not very sophisticated, but too good to waste. Excellent wine and beer from the bar.
