We are a small family run cafe and gift shop. All our meals and cakes are homemade, we carter for vegetarian gluten free and lactose free diets . We have a varied menu from homemade soup aubergine tomato and mozzarella tascas to chicken bacon chilli Panin
Had a lovely lunch here today, we were introduced to toasted tascas and our dog enjoyed sampling the home made doggie treats. Staff were really friendly and we were made to feel really welcome. Highly recommend a visit

I do believe that you get what you pay for, but not in the case of The Old Mill. I don't expect much for my money, but I do expect to get what is advertised. The website facilities showed tempting tea making facilities with biscuits and bottled water! Certainly not in mine. In fact there wasn't even a kettle. I asked twice and eventually got one, - that didn't work! Also advertised were toiletries in every room. Again, certainly not in mine .(my journey involved a flight so I couldn't bring my own showergell). There were just empties in the shared bathroom. On the third evening, some appeared in the bathroom and I decided to take a bath, but half an hour later they had all vanished and the bath was covered in a layer of short black hairs as though someone had shaved their very hairy legs in the bath. The toilet was dirty, the shower door was off its runner and the plugs all had broken chains or were missing. My original booking was for a twin with its own basin, but this materialised into just a double bed. There was nowhere to dry a wet towel in the bedroom so by my fourth day, I had a wet soggy towel, as it was never changed. On my first morning,I went downstairs in search of breakfast. It was dark and silent with no sign of staff. I eventually found another guest and he showed me the breakfast bar, which provided a good continental breakfast of fruit, yogurt, cereals, brioche, etc.. The webite stated that it was possible to order a cooked breakfast, but on my third morning, guests asked a member of staff and were told that 'there is nothing hot in the kitchen ' so left with nothing. My room was clean, but cold. Again, the website advertised 'heating', but my radiator stayed cold, however adjusted. The redeeming feature of The Old Mill was the staff(when seen!) . They were all very pleasant, polite and friendly. Obviously, it is not their fault if their guests have dirty habits, but please could they do regular checks on the shared bathrooms, - and provide the facilities advertised!

Situated in Crosby, Maryport beside the A596 the Stag Inn is a welcoming pub and restaurant, serving great food and Cask Marque ales
Visited whilst on holiday in the area and wouldn't hesitate to go back if again in the region.Young staff very frendly and efficient. All meals were hot and tasty - my omelette in particular was exceptional. It is a shame that the restaurant area was poorly supported on a Wednesday lunch time - locals - rally round and support this pub.

We have just left this establishment after a 2 night stay as I felt I had to write this review asap to warn other people not to stay here! The place is grotty and smelly and in need of a serious clean. The room we were given was dusty, musty and cramped. After escaping for a few hours, we came back to the room to make a cup of tea and the cups were filthy! When we opened the kettle it was filled with the remains of what looked like noodles!!! We were previously told that there is no one on site but the owner is "only up the road" if we had any issues. I find this really bizarre and not to mention a health and safety issue because what if there was an emergency like a fire or a break in?? When I finally got through to the owner on the phone she said she was actually 100 miles away!! But apologised and said she would phone me back to arrange changing rooms. After about 20 minutes the woman that had checked us in arrived and moved us to another room which was cleaner and begs the question why wasn't we given that room in the first place?? Again the cups were dirty so she took them away to clean them while my boyfriend had to move our luggage from the room above to our new room. Breakfast was ok but the quality of the food is very cheap. Also on the day we were leaving (checkout is 11am) we returned to our room after breakfast at 10:15 and the bedding had already been changed. I'm actually surprised the cleaner still had a job! We will never return to the B&B from hell!Dear Emma and Gary, after viewing your review I feel I urgently need to respond! You are correct that there was an issue with the room and kettle, this was rectified within 20 minutes by our Font of House Manager who was on duty that night for any emergencies; you were allocated another room.We have now investigated your issues and appointed a new housekeeper. We do apologise again for the inconvenience caused! What I find difficult to understand is that after your initial problems you never discussed issues or complaints with us! If you were so unhappy with your stay (£39.00 per night for 2 people including breakfast. Breakfast is £6 per person so your room cost each night per person £13.50) why didnât you ask for an immediate refund and sought alternative accommodation?I find trip advisor comments always one sided and very unfair! When having breakfast every morning both of you were very chatty and happy with us!

Three girls, one vegetarian and she actually had a choice of Quorn nuggets or Veggie burger! The food was beautifully served and the chips were delicious. Not a scrap left on any of their slates.Friendly service and great for lounging in between activities. Great value and reasonable prices on adult menu but for Children the portions were just right for hungry 10 year old girls and I thought it was cheap.

Family run business with fantastic staff, fantastic meals and a great choice with something to suit everyone.
Nice relaxing hotel with all but 1 member of staff friendly. We were staying in the area and called in every evening for a drink. We found the barmaids friendly and got to know them but on the 3rd night which was Thursday 30th May the manager who was on served me at the bar.Taking into account we had the same drinks every night we knew the cost per round, but this manager over charged me by £3.00. When I questioned him he did not like it, and was adamant that he had charged me correctly and said that on the previous nights I had underpaid for the drinks. He wasrude and it was an embarrassment in front of other customers. He would not accept that he was wrong and gave me a copy of the till receipt. I went back to my table and checked the receipt. I found that he had charged me for a grey goose which is a premium vodka instead of grouse. If he had looked at my drink he would have seen that it was a totally different colour to vodka but he just was not interested. I spoke to Elle one of the barmaids when she came from behind the bar and showed her the receipt. She could immediately see what he had done and took the receipt to him. With this I got a refund. The annoying thing about this was he was sure he was correct even when we told him we had come in 2 previous nights and £3.00 cheaperWhen he eventually knew he was wrong he sent the £3.00 over to me. Later on he came to me and said that grey goose and grouse are together on the till and that due to his fingers being fat he had hit the wrong key. What a poor excuse.Thank you for your review. First of all let me apologise for you being overcharged. I have investigated the incident and spoken to the staff that were on that night. I am assured that it was a simple mistake ( which do happen ) and once pointed out was refunded and apologies given. I am pleased you found our hotel nice and relaxing and look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Maryport.

Annabell's Tea Room is located on Senhouse Street, in the centre of the friendly town of Maryport, on the outskirts of the Lake District. We are a family run business, serving deliciously home-made cakes, tray bakes, afternoon Cream Tea's, sandwiches and
Called in for lunch and was greeted by a cheery chappie. I chose the special 'Corned Beef Ash' which was nice, but gazed longingly at the wife's ploughman's which came with beef, ham and pork pie. There were also some wonderful looking cakes. Pleasant and good value.

We had an excellent Sunday lunch. Superb setting with views over the Solway. The food was plentiful and 2 courses of quality food for under £9 is excellent value. Two quibbles. 1. The gravy had been messed with. Roast beef dinner needs traditional gravy from meat juices not a load of unnecessary spices. 2. The door needs to be fixed. It slams shut loudly every time anyone uses it...which was about 200 times during the course of our 1hr stay !

Come up and visit two or three times a year and have struggled to find decent fish and chips. Came here yesterday and between us all had nice fish, decent chips and battered sausage. Definitely the best Iâve come across round here and will come back again. Make sure you order your food as you come in so it cooks as you queue round the shop though the friendly staff will probably look after you anyway!
