Visited whilst on an Exmoor break - we had Ham, Egg and Chips (ham tender and tasty, chips fantastic and perfectly cooked eggs) and Scampi & Chips (fantastic, huge and like no Scampi I've had before 'proper' Scampi). We narrowed it down to three puddings between us.. Homemade Apple Crumble & Cream.. Salted Caramel Ice Cream made nearby.. And Ameretto Creme Brulé - out of this world. People running it really lovely, restaurant itself warm and cosy. All in all a great experience. Only downside being its 3-4 hours from home :(

Locally sourced ingredients freshly prepared by our team of chefs who deliver great looking tasty tapas dishes. Great food served in funky yet exquisite surroundings with the friendliest service you'll ever find. (And lots of Gins)
Having visited the castle we walked down into town and finding ourselves in want of a cold drink dropped in at the beer garden.Clearly recently refurbished, it has plenty of seating, loads of flowers and a boule court.

As a party of four we had 2 cream Teas and two toasted tea cakes, along with Tea, and the price was very good, the food great and the service could not be faulted. We sat outside on the pavements tables but they have a great tea garden in the back.

We ate an evening meal in the Stag and to be absolutely honest it was far from good. The chicken dish was served with soggy mashed potato and the chicken was so tough that my wife couldn't eat it. In fact we had to complain and the waiting staff were very surly and condescending. After some discussion and their manager tasting the chicken they finally took the price of the dish off our bill but their attitude was not at all friendly or helpful and other diners were not impressed either.Would we recommend the Stag for food? Absolutely NO!

Excellent food at a good price, but made all the better by the super friendly staff who my daughter talked about all the way home. Would deffinantly recommend.

My husband and I visited Dunster earlier this year for a day out on our honeymoon and absolutely fell in love with the place. We spent a wonderful few hours exploring the area and decided to stop for something to eat at the Castle Coffee House before we continued our exploration. Well...it was quite simply the cherry on top of what had already been the best day. We ordered two brie, bacon and cranberry baguettes followed by a cream tea each and it was all absolutely delicious. The service was second to none and the little courtyard we sat in to eat was filled with so many flowers and such beautiful cheery decor, it was just stunning. Extremely good value too, we highly recommend. Can't wait to come back!Thank you for writing such a lovely review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your visit to Castle Coffee House and hope you had a wonderful honeymoon. Hope to see you again! Best wishes.
