This was a hotel as well as a restaurant
Visited for lunch on a Friday & were not disappointed. The bar is clean, airy & nicely decorated.Staff were welcoming & helpful throughout our visit. The menu is extensive & varied with options for children & senior citizens.Dessert board was quite extensive.Service was quick & all food that came was tasty & very nicely presented.Only downside for us was that drinks prices are quite steep - about £9 for a pint and large glass of wine. Hence 4stars rather than 5stars.

This little gem looks like a traditional fish and chip shop but it is much more than that. The fish and chips are excellent but don't miss out on the adjoining restaurant where there is a good choice of either eat in or takeaway options.

Just off the harbour Near Duncan Square
Every dish we ate was excellent. Menu is far more than typical pub food. A bouillabaisse that could grace a high-end restaurant, at a price that suggests the ingredients came ashore on the boats you can see through the window. Fine selection of craft beers. Hope the owners donât read this but their prices donât begin to reflect the quality of the cuisine. Worth coming to Whitehaven just for this.

Seventeen walkers visited here on a Saturday afternoon after a mornings walk. The food was just about ok. I had fish and chips which was poor and all who had said it was not very good, not good value at £12.75. Bone hard chips that we assume had been warmed up, the fish batter was like cast iron. However the ploughmanâs was very good. The two ales were average at best, one had no condition. Over all, would I visit again.....no.....advertised in the Camra Good Beer Guide as having 6 ales on....no it has 4....

Went for dinner this evening, I would advise that you make sure you've a big appetite bordering on starving, the food is excellent and the servings enormous. I would also advise booking as understandably it gets very busy, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is great.

The Globe is a traditional public house that is a listed building and has some original features. We strive to be very welcoming and original. we serve very good Home-Cooked food and a selection of real ales. This is not a fast food outlet, and your eveni
traditional and fun with a brilliant atmosphere. My daughter has just moved into the area so we called here just for a pint - what a great place and amazing atmosphere. we are going back next week for food so keep looking.

We use this cafe has a convenient spot on walks. There are very few cafes in the general area and this one is is therefore very useful. We enjoyed sandwiches, a scone and tea in the community centre. Prices are reasonable.Although there is on-site parking, it is relatively limited and at busy times you may have to park some distance away.

Nipped in to The Brook on a whim and was definitely not disappointed. Although it's only small, it adds to the friendly, cosy atmosphere. Every single member of staff we interacted with made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed two amazing meals.I had the charred red pepper and garlic chicken tagliatelle and its was honestly the best pasta dish I have had for a while. The flavours were amazing and I only wish I had room to finish it! My partner had the steak pie with roasted veg and chips and it was nice to see a proper pie for once! Properly made!If you are in the area, the Brook is definitely worth a look and you won't be disappointed with the quality of the food!
