The Welsh capital may have begun its life as a Roman fort, but it's since become a bustling city. Where the fort once stood, Cardiff Castle has held court since the 11th century. It remains a central presence in the city, now full of lively art and music venues, hip boutiques, fun bars and modern hotels. Even with so many new and exciting things to see, the National History Museum is still the most visited attraction in Wales. Don't be the only visitor who plays hooky!

First time at this lovely little restaurant on Whitchurch Road. It was recommended to us & Iâm very glad we tried it. 2 courses for £16.95 - very good value. We had crab arancini to start (superb) followed by one pork loin roast & one fresh seared tuna. The portions were so generous we werenât able to try the desserts! My husband is Sicilian & is never completely happy when eating out but he was full of praise & keen to return to try the evening menu. Do try.

My daughter was graduating and we wanted a restaurant that would be special to mark the occasion. So glad we chose to come here. The food was excellent- my lamb was cooked to perfection- the service was great ; we all really enjoyed the beautifully presented tasty food. Thoroughly recommend it.

Given the rave reviews for this restaurant and the recommendation of the trusted friend who took us here, I was very disappointed. The restaurant is small and rather cramped, and the menu somewhat similar. The staff were friendly but the apparent owners seemed to be lunching and everyone knew everybody else, so we were left feeling like inconvenient outsiders. This feeling was compounded by the waiter getting the orders confused. The table of six (who knew the owners) arrived after us, ordered after us, but the three who had ordered the main meal of cod, got our order, and the three who hadn't had to wait. As did we, for more than 30 minutes! The starter (ragu on sourdough) was disappointing and rather greasy. The cod was perfect but the accompanying ingredients were an unnecessary and distracting riot of flavours. The wine was excellent. Very loud background music. Waiter turned it down when I asked him too, but it got louder again later. Strangely the coffee was served before the dessert. I would not recommend this place unless they pull their socks up.

Went for lunch and had a lovely three course menu. Staff were lovely and food was up to a very high standard. Prepared and cooked by three young chefs who came out and introduced themselves after. Talking about their creations they made sound so simple, well done. It was a pleasure to meet you all, and we look forward to repeating the experience very very soon.

We popped in the shop after stumbling across this little gem and returned the next morning for breakfast. Beautiful food and fantastic service. We shared the continental breakfast with cured meats and a croissant and the Welsh rarebit with a very generously sized latte and tea. It was all delicious and we would highly recommend. The shop is well worth a visit and is a must see for any cheese or kitchen lovers!Hi 612PaulAThanks for stumbling across us and glad that you decided to give us a try.Glad you enjoyed your continental breakfast and service. Thanks for the great review and hope to see you again.ThanksAlastair

I totally recommend the clink for an evening with friends and some absolutely fabulous food and service .Itâs a little quirky. Itâs dry, however lots of nice soft drinks to choose from and quite a refreshing change.Food was fabulous. Quite pricey, but considering the quality and the fact this is a charity, then that works well for me.Portions were good, my chicken breast was so juicy I am still thinking about it and the cheeseboard was absolutely incredible. Our waiter was fabulous , fun and really friendly. Good luck to everyone who served us. I hope you all have a bright future ahead of you.

This place is out of this world! Super polite and friendly staff, amazing cuisine, all served with a smile... so I couldn't really ask for much more. Nothing was too much trouble, I had a lovely chat with our waitress about food and what to do in the local area. It didn't surprise me that this is a favourite wedding venue, I can imagine that every wedding would be pretty spectacular. I would recommend this place if you are looking for some special or relaxing time.

I donât often frequent bars but today was different as me and a group of friends decided to head into Revolution for some cocktails to drown our sorrows after the rugby result. Now as someone that is usually a beer drinker, I decided to go for a cocktail and the âRussian Spyâ was the one I went for as I have a bit of a sweet tooth, the bar was exceptionally busy but the wait was over before it even began, and I was confronted by the lovely âNellyâ, who made sure I knew about Happy Hour, and gave me the option between dairy and non-dairy. She served me with a smile, delivered some amazing cocktails and I will be spreading the word from now on! Thank you Revolution.Hi Paulturner33, thank you for your review and for letting us know how we did! It's great to hear you had a great time with us and I do hope we see you again very soon. Have a great day!

Slightly mad that an old-fashioned greasy spoon is number one for Cardiff, but we did enjoy our breakfasts here. The owner was very sweet, checking we were happy with everything we ordered and saying goodbye when we left. Also nice to see regular customers being greeted by name, another indication of how friendly this place is.
