I was told that this restaurant was good but I was still very surprised by the quality of the food. We had the roast beef platter which was excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service was good but they did take their time clearing the plates. That's the only criticism. Would definitely recommend and return.

This is a local pub that we had never previously visited but did so as we had heard good reports from friends. We arrived for an early evening booking but the car park was almost full. We witnessed a number of people parking there yet only to walk their dogs nearby! The pub was busy (at 6.15) and we had to wait to be seated. The place was busy throughout and the waiting staff did their best to give good service but evidently not a place to go if you are in a hurry. By local standards the food was expensive. The cod and chips at around £14 is £2 more expensive than a number of other pubs within 2 miles. Worse than that was the fact that the size of the cod was probably 39% smaller than those others! Overall the experience was average given that we were not seated in a dedicated restaurant but amongst others who were there only for a drink. For dessert my daughter (aged 30) ordered the brownie which was tiny when it arrived. We didn't complain as portions of the main course were also small but importAntly the waiter made no comment when it was delivered to the table. When the bill arrived the brownie was described as a "child portion" and we were not charged the full extortionate price! Clearly the kitchen and the waiter were aware but they failed to communicate to us...... I can only imagine this was the last half portion they had and they would rather have sold it than thrown it away? Because of this poor customer service and overpriced menu we will not be rushing back

Dexter Burger is a high quality fast dining experience coming to Purley summer 2015. The concept of two friends Stewart Dunkley and Nicholas Mason.
First visit did not disappoint. Chicken burger was succulent ... sweet potato fries were delicious and chilli jam was divine. Service very friendly . I would highly recommend. Enjoy.

Quite small interior, but plenty of tables to have a meal outside in the sun.A staggeringly large menu, offering a vast range of food, in addition to the normal sales from the shop. The list of breakfasts alone ( ten different kinds) is sufficient to tempt even the most fastidious. With a pot of tea (no teabags in plastic containers), 'real' cups, sugar and milk, my No.10 breakfast was a feast rather than a quick brunch. Pleasant, prompt service and great value at the price charged. A winner!

Took my mother here on Saturday for breakfast. Not only was it amazing, but it was at an extremely reasonable price!Good quality produce made the meal very tasty indeed, and the service was with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean, and we even bought a couple of filled baguettes for our tea! Suffice to say: weâll definitely be returning for seconds!

Providing Britain's national dish at its freshest. Fish(full range) and chips plus alternatives either as take-away or waitress served in our fully licensed restaurant.
Just been in here and waited 15 minutes for a tiny piece of cod and no chips didn't realise until I got home. That's £9.65 for a small bit of fish. Rang to say what had happened and offered free chips next time. So that's great spend some more money with us and we will give you what you have already paid for! Save your money there are others that are really not this expensive and know what they are doing.Hello Bill. Sorry to hear about your experience with us. I have investigated . The member of staff you spoke toasked whether you wished to speak to the manager which you rejected. I cannot find any combination of cod and chips which comes to £9.65. A regular cod with chips is £8.15. Find it strange that a 'small' piece of cod in a bag without chips would not be so obviously light in weight not to be noticed! I would be grateful if you would ring the shop and leave your name and telephone number so that I could ring you and better address the situation

We had not visited The Grumpy Mole for a few years as had had a couple of disappointing meals. However, thought we would give it a chance and were very pleasantly surprised!Excellent service from our waitress and a very good menu. Both our meals were excellent....especially the steak and kidney pudding!!Lovely setting and easy parking. Will certainly return again.

Our 2nd visit to The Clink, the 1st time at High Down. Our waiter Lenroy was very attentive and provided excellent service, we guessed he was quite new and thought he had probably been a waiter for a few months, we later found out it was his 2nd week. The food was up to any top restaurant and cooked perfectly, stunning presentation and served with elegance. It would be hard to pick a favourite course, we would probably say the dessert edged it with perfectly cooked pastry. If the High Down staff pick this up please thank the whole team for a wonderful meal and a special thanks to Lenroy for front of house service
