n March 2019 Bessie & Ray took over Porters Cove from the previous Managers. We are situated in the middle of Abersoch with a patio overlooking the High Street ideal for people watch whilst enjoying drinks, meals or Tapas from our Menus and Special board.
We recently visited this restaurant and had to wait over an hour for our meals. When we enquired as to where our food was, the owner/manager told me that you can see how busy we are and that her staff are going to get it for not telling our party that there was always going to be a delay. We were shown a total lack of respect and when we further questioned the reason for the delay we were told that they had lots of customers outside and when we arrived at 6pm there werenât many customers so it was no excuse. I will not be going back to this restaurant as the food and service are no better than a very poor chain pub. In my view this needs an total overhaul and understand actual what this place is, as itâs not better than a poor chain pub!Hi there kellySorry you did not enjoy your night But I have to say you did have a wait But it was a very busy night .I come over and brought you a bottle off wine . And said how busy we were. Then I came over and asked if everything okYou said things were goodThen the food come and I come over twice To see if everything was ok And you all said it was lovely so I really donât know want this review is aboutYou all said you had a enjoyable evening

We had not dined here for some time Without wishing to be too critical we tried the soup which unfortunately was a very pale imitation of previous offerings being very thin with an unusual metallic taste Also just as unfortunate the soup when it arrived was almost cold Perhaps we came on an off day ...

We made a couple of visits to this lovely restaurant whilst staying in Abersoch. Firstly for Sunday lunch - excellent choice of meats & a vegetarian option. Freshly cooked vegetables, prompt service, good portions. More vegetables were offered without charge. Secondly for evening dinner which is more of a fine dining experience. Lovely welcome on arrival, chatty, humorous & friendly hosts. We were offered both menu options, set priced a la carte with the option of 2 or 3 courses and the bar meal menu. We opted for the a la carte. Excellent choice, beautifully cooked & presented food. Amuse bouche, sorbet between courses & coffee/petit 4âs all included. This is the only place in Abersoch we returned to for dinner. Ignore the comments about a rude host, not true just one of lifeâs characters whom we found highly entertaining.

Welcome to Zinc Cafe, Bar & Grill. Come and enjoy our lively cafe and unwind on our stunning terrace overlooking the Abersoch harbour, for an evening treat why not relax in the wonderful, warm atmosphere of the grill. Our friendly staff will look after yo
We visited Zinc recently and had a mixed dining experience...Zinc has a great view from the rear restaurant, overlooking the harbour, and is in a decent location in the town centre...The menu has plenty of choice, with something for everyone... though the prices are a touch steep, but maybe ok for a restaurant in this ideal setting... I had the ribs dish to start, followed by a lovely steak which i enjoyed... others in our party also complimented the food with dishes like beef, swordfish, etc... However, the staff service let it down badly... the staff who greeted us were welcoming, but those serving our table need to improve drastically...These staff need to learn to smile and actually look like they want to be employed as their aura and body language, plus communication skills, were terrible...The table staff sadly let the restaurant down on our visit... this is the reason for the average mark despite the food being good... In defence of the restaurant i guess they may have had new staff working, so would give this place another try when next in the area - as the food was tasty...

Despite it being a bit more fancy than originally desired, the food here was delicious, and we were able to sit outside in the gorgeous sunshine and eat. It was a little bit pricey but the quality and quantity of the food made up for that. The pizza was a lovely thin base, the fish had a light batter, not oily or thick at all, the chips were yummy and the portions were perfect. Friendly staff and quick service- it all felt very relaxed and leisurely! Perfect place for a lazy pub lunch in between beach walks and window shopping âºï¸

Popped in for a drink and some cake. Friendly welcome and engaging staff. Good selection on menu. Great selection of cakes that all looked delicious. I had the aubergine and courgette cake, (no diary)which was gorgeous whilst my wife had waffle and bacon. She said it was really tasty. There is seating outside. Well worth a return visit and sample more delights.

Great night. Started with a beetroot gin then into amazing three courses of food, each one brilliant, all with distinct flavours, especially the Welsh lamb with a side of green vegetables. Bill came with delicious homemade chocolate, mmmmm.Thank you Si & team.
