We are a small pub, with a strong focus on real ale. We serve lunch Tuesday to Friday (12 Noon - 1.30Pm). We have a pie night every Wednesday (6pm - 8.00Pm) and we serve roast dinners on a Sunday (5pm - 6.30Pm). However, we don't serve food on any other e
What a fantastic little pub. We had some lunch there the other day and it was beautifully presented, with pleasant/friendly staff. The chips were delicious and so was the ham oatcake. We had the small portions, which was plenty big enough!!! I will certainly go there again and I will recommend it to anyone who likes quaint older pubs. The locals were friendly as well.

Absolutely disgusting customer service during the ABBA tribute towards me and my friends. Phone destroyed by the owner and now has water damage from a drink poor all over it. Was swore at and he commented on all our appearances, the way he spoke to his customers was absolutely disgusting. Verbally abusive. Please stay away from this place, he is disgusting! Will be taking this further. We will be taking this further as he went through our personal belongings without permission, was verbally abusive when he told us to leave and was genuinely just a disgusting person towards customers. This is largely true when you turn up to an event we put on for free at great expense and think itâs okay to bring your own vodka, beer and cider then think because I tell you to leave Iâm in the wrong. You type of people spoil an exceptional event by your dishonest deceitful behaviour. We donât need customers like you. Thank you.

A perfect spot for visiting the Peak National Park, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. The Peacock is located in the small, pretty village of Rowsley. We serve delicious food both lunch and dinner in the warm and cosy surroundings of our atmospheric bar. O
Itâs the kind of place you go for a special occasion. For us, it was visiting with a very dear friend. She loves to go there, and so do we when we stay in nearby Darley Dale. Very swish, with top shelf service. In an elegant setting, too. They have a three course âlighterâ lunch menu for £24. Some lovely choices, served with a side of bread with the crispest crusts. Mushroom soup, croquettes, terrine...great start. Fish and (hand cut) chips, braised lamb shoulder, cauliflower cheese...yumMille feuille, creme Catalan, tart of the day...great finish. Itâs no bargain but you get what you pay for. Look forward to next time.

Old fashioned English pub and community hub. Serving well kept cask-conditioned real ale that has an excellent reputation both locally and visitors, because the landlord knows how to keep beer correctly. Serves good quality, home made food at lunch and in
We had a great meal here, the food was delicious, my fave was the breaded Brie wedges with salad and sweet potato fries, my daughter had the homemade steak pie with chips, peas and gravy, very tasty. They serve a very tasty rhubarb cider which is delicious. If you like good food, visit the Sycamore Inn.

We booked a table here for Sunday Lunch whilst staying locally. Itâs so popular locally that there were only 3 Sunday Roasts left for 5 of us. It didnât matter as the remaining two chose differently.Itâs not fancy or stylish but it has the loveliest people running it! We were welcomed warmly & served quickly & very well looked after. The food was delicious. The chips were real too! Iâd recommend booking & then leavings plenty time to find a parking space in the busy village.

Called in here on the back of a verbal recommendation from a fellow walker. Very quiet Monday lunch but enjoyed delicious french onion soup with a melted cheese and mushroom warm ciabatta . Following a look at the evening menu decided to call back later for dinner. Not a huge menu but nevertheless quite busy and we enjoyed a tasty lamb tagine. Usual beers and wine selection. Welcoming and friendly with good service. No problem in visiting again.

The Barley Mow is a lively and eccentric Free House located in the beautiful village of Bonsall. Famous for the 'World Championship Hen Races', and for being the most likely place to be abducted by aliens according to UFO magazine ! Locally sourced meat f
Great village pub with an awesome selection of drinks. There's a brewery on site plus local craft ales and ciders, any spirits you could wish for, great food and amazing hosts. All the food is locally sourced and cooked with love. Bands on every Friday and Saturday, what's not to like?

The Druid Inn is a historic country pub situated in the charming hill village of Birchover, Derbyshire. Beautifully renovated, the pub is just minutes from attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the market town of Bakewell. A short walk a
After a most enjoyable walk on Stanton Moor on a sunny Sunday morning, we went to the Druid Inn for lunch as this was very close to where we had parked for our walk. To our surprise, the restaurant was not particularly busy, but perhaps locals prefer the other pub in the village. The Sunday lunch menu offered two fixed price options for either two or three courses. The choices were a bit limited, and the prices were definitely on the high side. The four of us all enjoyed our starters, but the main courses certainly didn't justify the price charged. Perhaps we too should have tried the other pub in Birchover, the Red Lion!

Had lunch here last week. It was lovely and cosy on a very wet day. Good choice of food and clearly marked which were gluten free. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was very good. Would definitely recommend.

Made a reservation for a Saturday night fortunately, it was rammed. Good choice of beers and wine as well as a comprehensive menu. Food quality was good and service friendly. Certainly return. Thanks Molenders. Your recommendation that bookings ahead are made is a valid one, and we do accept bookings which help us with our planning. Recently we have had a few "no-shows" which are frustrating - not only for us but also for hopeful diners who were turned away on the night. We may have to introduce a policy of only keeping a table for a few minutes after the agreed time. Marilyn suggests that there should be a website where we can register no- shows so others will know of their conduct. A recent article in the trade paper claimed that a majority of 25 to 35yr olds admitted booking more than one venue so they had a choice on the night, but didn't think it was wrong!Luckily it doesn't happen too often, if it becomes a real problem we will have to take deposits from those not known to us as some London restaurants already do. If last minute hitches occur we always appreciate a phone call to just let us know.Thank you for your review, and we look forward to your next visit, many thanks, best wishesDavid, Marilyn and Staff
