Pub food of excellent quality and quantity. Available are a vast array of beers and spirits; a large selection of single malt whiskies; speciality gins and a full wine list. The times shown here are the times that food is available. The pub is open Monday
This pub was recommended to us by the B&B owners where we staying. It was a Saturday evening on Firework procession night but we found a table. The pub is quite big and goes right the way back where there is a conservatory. You order at the bar and there is an expansive menu. I had cod and chips, husband had plaice. Good portions nice light batter and we didnât wait too long.Really yummy puds too. Not too pricey. Would use again.

Having reserved a table for 3 in the evening, we found we were in the nursery area, with babies and young children loudly enjoying themselves right next to us. This was 7pm. We ordered drinks at the bar and asked where our table was, expecting someone to come over. No one did, so eventually we asked and was told we have to help ourselves to a menu and order at the busy bar. No one told us this.Booked for their GF options, the fish pie was a glutenous dry specimen with one overcooked prawn and probably cod? Side salad probably for show rather than eating. The fish and chips had overcooked batter, chips passable. Scampi was a large portion but again, overcooked. All was an unpleasant chore to get through, however, we were hungry so did. No one asked us how our meal was. Too crowded, I couldn't be heard to tell them anyway.

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon just before 5pm and ordered the classic burger. When it arrived it wasnât cooked properly and the mince was still pink in the majority of the burger. I went to speak to one of the waiters and found he was a bit abrupt in his manner. I found another waiter a young guy who was much more friendly and very apologetic. I was a made a new one which was fine ( and cooked properly ) however it did ruin things a bit and my cousin had eaten all her dinner by the time I got mine. Although the mistake was rectified I donât think a burger is a difficult thing to cook :/ was left feeling disappointed. I am very sorry to hear you had a problem with your meal. I will talk through the issues with the team to ensure we learn from your comments. Thank you for highlighting this to me and do hope you return.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We had the Cottage Pie with veg which was very tasty. Only bit of a gripe was when we came to order dessert they said the kitchen had just closed. The next man to me at the Bar then had the same problem. They went and asked the kitchen and it was agreed however they would do them . What I would say is mention to people when they order their mains that the kitchen is closing at whatever time and if desserts are required to order before then . When we got the dessert - mixed fruit crumble it was delicious. I would say one of the best crumbles I have ever had. Plan to return soon to try the roast n , hopefully they do cauli cheese with it as that is one of my roast requests. Happy to pay extra for it as a side dish.Good Afternoon, Thank you for your review, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your Cottage pie. We are sorry about the misunderstanding regarding the dessert. Although our kitchen does close at 5pm on a Sunday, desserts are still available after your meal.We hope to see you again soon for a Roast and crumble to follow. Thank you again.Ellie

This was our second visit to this great Village Pub and Restaurant albeit about a year apart. We were impressed last time but this experience proved even better and not just because of the recent refurbishment. Friendly, efficient and welcoming Staff served us with the most delicious Scampi, Chips, Peas and Tartar Sauce you could possibly wish for. This was followed by the nicest Apple Crumble and Ice Cream we have ever tasted. These two gems even featured on their excellent value for money Lunchtime Menus. If you enjoy good wholesome Food freshly and perfectly cooked to order in a lovely atmosphere - why not 'give them a go'. We strongly recommend that you do!

We were staying at the adjacent Premier Inn and had breakfast as part of the deal. The choice was between the continental at £7.50 or full English breakfast, which included the continental at £9.50. Porridge was included in the continental breakfast. Lots of choice although no cheese or cold meats as part of the continental; the English breakfast is ordered and not buffet style.

I ate here with my friends on Sunday just gone and not the first time I've been impressed with the food. Reasonable priced food and good portion sizes. I had the roast pork belly - great portion size and lovely food. Could've done with slightly more gravy, but that's a personal touch. Ample parking and a lovely garden to eat in as well if the weather is nice. Will definitely return, would recommend for good, honest home cooked food! Thank you for your kind review and please don't hesitate to ask for more gravy next time.

Stopped here after a walk around Arlington. Set in the middle of the village, this is a deceptively large premises. It is well decorated and very comfortable. Menu is extensive offering mainly traditional pub grub to a good standard. We had the gammon egg and chips (gluten free) and scampi and chips. Prices were reasonable. The car park is not that big and street parking is difficult but well worth a visit if in the area.

Family and dog friendly pub restaurant with a warm welcome for all. We have a seasonal menu, a daily specials menu and our Sunday menu features our very popular roast dinners. Food Serving hours: Monday to Saturday 12:00pm to 9:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm to
Late lunch with a toddler. The waiting staff could not have been more engaging, helpful and accommodating. Sunday roast was very good, well presented and tasty. Chicken Caesar Salad - the chicken portion was rather underwhelming, dry and chewy. Next time i will have the roast. Apart from that one negative everything else was great. Lovely pub & restaurant.Thank you for visiting us at the Barley Mow, we hope to see you again soon for a roast! Best wishes, The Barely Mow
