Here on Friday evening, enjoying the sunshine and a couple of bottles of wine.Good, friendly table service, but a bit disappointing that the waitress didnât point out the happy hour deal for our first drink. Love the Cornwall, it is a shame it is not my local. I do go to the Cornwall to eat before the games at Cardiff City stadium. Love the staff, super helpful, would recommend this pub. We have had a few celebrations in the Cedar Tree. Booking is easy (online or 'phone). The staff are excellent as is the pub and the food especially the carvery and the desserts. Was in the area visiting friends and decided to stop here for some dinner. Having been here a number of years ago, I was glad to see the same management still in place and standards still as high as our previous visit. The atmosphere was just as welcoming and the staff were friendly and chatty, but not too overwhelming. I ordered the Chip shop Platter recommended by Helen, it was amazing! Our meals arrived quickly and were hot and tasty. Helen was attentive throughout and even gave us ideas of places to visit whilst we were in the area. I donât often frequent bars but today was different as me and a group of friends decided to head into Revolution for some cocktails to drown our sorrows after the rugby result. Now as someone that is usually a beer drinker, I decided to go for a cocktail and the âRussian Spyâ was the one I went for as I have a bit of a sweet tooth, the bar was exceptionally busy but the wait was over before it even began, and I was confronted by the lovely âNellyâ, who made sure I knew about Happy Hour, and gave me the option between dairy and non-dairy. She served me with a smile, delivered some amazing cocktails and I will be spreading the word from now on! Visited on the off chance early on a Friday evening. Were not disappointed. Two fillet steaks cooked to perfection tk our (very different ) requirements.Superb side dishes of garlic mushrooms and dauphinoise potatoes. Effort had also gone into the side salad. Really impressive food, one of my favourite ever meals !Good dessert options. Also well presented ... da iawn, well done. Compliments to the chef. Highly recommend a visit. We will return.

We booked for their sharing steak platter with two friends last week. The Exchange Hotel where the restaurant is situated is a fantastic old building with an enormous amount of history and ambience - well worth a look around on your visit!I was a little worried when we arrived just after 7 for a 7.30pm booking and the place was empty. However, we were greeted by the friendly barman and head waiter, who served us some great drinks as we sat at the bar. As we were having the sharing steak platter which we were advised our meal would take around 40 minutes to prepare. We ordered some sharing nibbles of the menu which arrived tasty and was readily consumed. We looked at the wine menu, and had some great tips provided by the waiter - which proved to be an excellent decision! The place gradually started to fill up and was getting fairly busy as the evening drew on.The food was excellent - the rib-eye steak was delicious and tender and cooked perfectly. The waiter was attentive, friendly and not pushy and gave us plenty of time between courses.The desserts were great to, as was a glass of port to finish the meal. All in all it was an excellent meal, and excellent venue and a very pleasant dining experience. We'd definitely go back for another meal there. Family visit to celebrate sons exam results and the Pilot burger is his favourite. As always good service, fantastic food & lunch prices incredibly reasonable. Would definitely recommend and return. Guaranteed quality food every visit.
