A well-stocked bar, deligtful coffees and hot drinks with plenty of food and snacks to choose from on our menu. Come and relax with beautiful views over the rolling cotswold hills in warm and friendly surroundings. Open to the public, dogs welcome. locate
Well done to the new managers of this establishment. We enjoyed it as Horton's, but the quality of the lunch and service has definitely improved. Yes, I think the cost has increased marginally, but our roast meats were cooked perfectly and the vegetables were delicious. The service is less intrusive but still friendly. We'll definitely be returning soon!Thank you for the lovely review. Glad to hear you enjoyed your meal and all of us here at The Waypoint will be looking forward to welcoming you back in the future.RegardsPaul

This is a lovely pub with excellent food. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch with all the family. Make sure you save room for puddings! Banoffee pie was ace!! Staff are helpful and friendly. Dogs are welcome and there's a great garden and a small childrens play area.Hello, Thank you for taking the time to give us 5* feedback. The team are so pleased. We are so glad you had an enjoyable lunch at The Fostons Ash. The Sunday roasts are definitely a popular choice here and you are absolutely right, it is always a good idea to save room for pudding. Banoffee pie is one of the ownersâ personal favourites, and is made by Fostonâs Chef Tracey, whoâs a genius on the puddings section â Tracey will be chuffed that you have singled out her endeavours! Furry friends are always welcome here (as long as they are not in the kitchenâ¦.)Thank you again and we hope to see you soon. The Fostons Ash.

I recently enjoyed a two night stay in the cottage apartment at the Star. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The bar was excellent with a terrific beer selection. The restaurant menu featured a large selection of tasty options. There were three people in my party, including two young men in their 20âs. We didnât eat the same meal twice and we were completely satisfied with every meal. Ken (the landlord) and his staff were welcoming and very helpful. I look forward to staying at the Star again.

Lovely setting on top of the hill with great views!!! The restaurant is accessible for everyone, and you can easily get a wheelchair in. The staff are very friendly and very efficient!! Now the important bit!!! The Sunday roast was exceptional...we had 2xpork, 2xlamb and 1xbeef. You can choose the size of your lunch...regular (which is large) and small (which is ideal for most)!! The food was absolutely delicious....and was delivered to our table not long after our order. All in all, a great experience!!

I took my mum for lunch to celebrate her birthday, we both opted to go straight for a main course, we each ordered Pork belly with Tewksbury mustard mash, roasted root potatoes and cider cream sauce..Wow! It was absolutely incredible in both looks and flavour! For desert we both ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding, once again, it was superb! They even put a candle in mums pudding for her! A lovely touch! In short, it was the perfect lunchtime treat for mum, service, quality of the food, very reasonably priced, everything was spot on!Julian (the landlord/chef) runs a very tight ship, as the pictures show, his attention to detail is excellent! 10/10Thank you Julian and team..Thank you Robin for your review and I am pleased that you and your Mother had a lovely meal on her Birthday. We hope to see you soon. Julian and Helen.

Had lunch here. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was tasty. The local ale was fine. Interesting interior kept basically intact from when Laurie Lee was a patron. Some interesting memorabilia and some of his books inside. Worth a visit.

Our family of 5 stopped by on a couple different occasions for pizza and beer while we were visiting Painswick. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was fun! The menu is limited but tasty! We enjoyed the pizzas which are very reasonably priced.

It has to be said that we are now spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out in Gloucestershire. Sometimes we go out trying new places which means old favourites get overlooked for a while. It's been a while since we've been to The Edgemoor, mores the pity. It still offers everything it ever did. There is always a wide choice on the menu and thoughtful specials. This can be difficult to carry off but that is not the case here. Every meal I've had has been very good, from the quality of the ingredients to the cooking and the service.I had the Fillet Steak Stack on this occasion and I can genuinely say it was in the top 3 pieces of steak I have ever had, and inventively served in a stack with bacon, tomato, mushroom and the best home made onion rings ever. It was deliciously tender and tasty. Served with a side blue cheese sauce that was creamy and tasty but mild and not overpowering like so many. With crispy chips and peas it was a delight. My partner had the gammon, a thick cut, tender piece of meat of which her only complaint was there was simply too much of it, so excellent value.Despite my diet (if you read my reviews you'll know why I need to be on one!) having visited here the previous week to catch up on the amazingg food, I decided I had to try one of the deserts, especially when I noted one of the specials was pecan pie, a particular favourite. It was an absolute delight, delicious down to the last crumb. The Edgemoor i well located 'twixt Gloucester & Stroud and hence enjoys a perfect view over Painswick which Chris has certainly made the most of by ensuring there is a wall of windows looking over the spectacular scenery. This has always been one of our favourite places to dine and if you visit you'll find it becomes one of yours, I'm sure.

Plenty of space inside but also tables outside by the quiet village street. Friendly welcome, good service. All the dishes we tried at lunchtime were very good in quality and quantity at an acceptable price. Interesting beer selection. Definitely one we will repeat.

The kitchen was closed when we arrived for lunch but the staff served us from their cold sandwich menu and we both had egg mayonnaise. They were decent without being memorable. I would be willing to go back and try a hot dinner.
