Cotswolds food pub.
After deciding to give this a place a second go,,,After a so so meal a couple of years ago,,,,, Its an OK pub, If passing by But certainly not a "Destination" Pub The menu was one of the most uninspiring i have come across in ages, Apart from a jokey bit about "Brexit" Burgers ! The Slow Braised Beef & Sherry Pie, was naff, It came with a big lump of Puff pastry, With not much meat beneath it,, Nowhere near being good, Loads of average pubs do better Anyway my burger was quite good, With nice Bought in Burger patties ! Reminds me of Burger van days. The beers are ok, All in, a nice pub for drinks if passing, But on one side you have lovely Stowe on the Wold, And the other quite a few nice eateriesHi JohnThank you for leaving a review.Im not really sure how to respond. We used to make our burgers but volumes where that high that our butcher now makes them to our specification in Winchcombe. 100% chuck steak from the 7 Vales, 7oz in weight of pure beef. Homemade Willesey Smoked Baconnaise, award winning Taw Valley Cheddar. We currently sit at No.1 in the Cotswolds on TA for burgers as well as highly place by The Cotswold Gentleman, I am therefore surprised you have compared them with a burger van...Regarding our pie, I have only ever had 1 complaint in 4.5 years regarding any of our pies but I will investigate this as our meat content is usually 6-8oz.We all have different tastes and maybe we just aren't for you, as much as I would love to please everyone.Im sorry you were not pleased with your experience at the Halfway House.Kindest regardsTania

Friendly little village pub. Cosy bar / restaurant area, if a little cramped. We had prebooked a table for a weekday lunchtime. Service was very good. Food was generally good, with just one of our party feeling that the fried fish was a little greasy. The portions are generous. Locals were boisterous, but that didn't detract from an all round good experience. Suggestion from one of our party...perhaps offer a "small plate" version of the pub classics.

Wednesday night is £10 for a steak night - until you book it, then itâs £12.50Need to amend their website. Slightly infuriating. Several of us booked in with our cooking preferences pre ordered. The advert shows steaks on wooden chopping boards. I hate those. They canât be dish washerd. They canât be bleached. They canât be sterilised so in my minds ete they canât be cleaned properly. So we all had good old fashioned plates. The service was impeccable. Water glasses topped up regularly. Sauces and mustards all promptly brought in. The steaks delicious and chips were giant sized and so hot we couldnât eat for a while. Tomatoes so tasty too. Flat mushrooms. Salad leaves dressed and tasty. Some orderd deserts which looked lovely. I had the hottest latte ever. Took me 10 minutes to sip it. It was a lovely meal and friendly service. I will be coming back for sure. Iâm a Local person.

Situated in a beautiful village. However the pub was dated and smelt musty. In need of some TLC. Decided not to eat there and moved on. Though the pub was busy.

A family owned stand alone pub that served fresh local produce, tremendous value for money!
Easy parking, easy to find, decent pub food, good staff. On the way from Burford to Bibury. Sunny garden. What's not to like?Thank you for your kind review

This place has lots of Cotswold character: exposed stone walls, wooden beams, an old wood burning stove and so on, but for me it does rather have too much the feel of a restaurant than a pub. Most of the tables have 'reserved' signs on them, even on a mid-week lunchtime and it's certainly not the sort of place to go for a game of darts or doms. Food is very good; nothing too ambitious, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Pan Seared Sea Bass (£16.50), served with spring onion mash and parsley sauce. The accompanying vegetables were carrots, cauliflower and broccoli which were well prepared albeit somewhat predictable. They have a good selection of four or five ales including the tasty Fossebridge Ale, brewed specially for the pub.

The Mousetrap Inn Restaurant is the heart of our traditional Cotswold Inn. We are open to residents, visitors and locals all day, every day. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, menu and the menu includes everything from a full English breakfast or smash
Really good service, unobtrusive and polite, the pub was buzzing with locals drinking...we had a table in the window and half our party got held up in traffic but was not a problem, we still kept on the large table and when they did join us it was fine for them to just have drinks as we had finished eating. Not hurried, very relaxing, just perfect.

From the time we called in the day before, to the time we left the next day, the service and care we received from all the staff was excellent; nothing was too much trouble (even to rustling up paracetamol and providing a lift) The food was delicious, well presented & well served. The atmosphere was informal & comfortable, fairly smart but not over the top. These people know their business! Thanks to you all.Thank you so much for your kind words. We all work exceptionally hard to ensure all of our guests enjoy their time with us. I am so glad we could look after your party as it was a delight to see you all. Hopefully see you again when you are next in the area!

Came with friends for a set meal. We had a piece of beef which fell apart and melted in your mouth. Hot plates, real napkins, water top ups, scrumptious potatoes & veg. Service was impeccable. Many tables were full but this still deter the waiters from being helpful. Loved the decor and feel of warmth with Cotswold stone walls. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Went whilst camping nearby, I would highly recommend very beautiful place with excellent service and food, that you pay a premium for but utterly worth it
