Visited there twice lately. Very friendly and attentive service. Menu has a very good selection including Vegetarians. There's also a specials board. The food was great and cooked well. The drinks are reasonably priced and the Rhymney beer is extremely good especially the Rhymney Export. We'll certainly be returning

I have eaten here twice when visiting relatives in the area. Itâs a really interesting pub with lots of character. Excellent range of food very reasonably priced, served piping hot and flavourful. The pies are well worth trying. Traditionally served and made on a large plate, a huge slice served with with chips and vegetables. Staff welcoming and helpful, well worth stopping off if you are in the area.

We visited on a Thursday evening which is their special gammon night at a reduced price. Three of our party had the Gammon which I felt took care of one pig due to the amount of meat. It was excellently cooked and presented by friendly staff. Three of us also chose other dishes that were tasty, well cooked and plenty on the plate. The restaurant is like stepping back in time in its decor but very welcoming and we felt really relaxed in it. Thanks to all the staff for their service and care in presenting a lovely evening.

We regret that we are no longer serving food. Our cosy bar will be open from 4pm every day for you to sample a wide range of cask ales, lagers and wines together with a varied selection of non alcoholic drinks.
This is currently one of our favourite restaurants. Went with family after prebooking a table. Always served quickly with food and drinks. At around £100 for four people with starts and mains including drinks, great value, never fails. The owners and the waitresses make you feel at home and that nothing is too much trouble for them. Lovely homely food and not overpriced, we will return.

A choice of eating in the restaurant or bar. The bar is dog friendly. The food is always excellent. Pride of Pendle is a real ale worth making the journey here for. The surrounding countryside and being in the shadow of Pendle hill really make this trip and enjoyable experience. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit so much Peter. We hope you will join us again very soon to receive some good old fashioned Lancashire hospitality. Many Thanks once again from us all at the Pendle Inn

This pub is only a 10 minute walk for us & we usually just have drinks there, but we kept getting told how good the food was, so we decided to go for a Sunday roast, we got excellent quick service & the meal was fantastic & very reasonable, we will be eating there again soon.

Called on Sunday and ordered the Giant Yorkshire Pudding with Beef.Large pudding arrived but not cooked ,cauliflower not cooked ,peas like bullets. Problem is that the staff do everything on the "run" and nobody seems interested whether you eat it or not.We should have ordered the "junk foods" as mostly these seem to be deep fried and looked OK. Vegetables were al-dente with a capital A almost raw and inedible.Beer was Ok and prices low but so is the quality of the food.I am sorry you were not satisfied with your meal. If you would like to email us at [email protected] I am happy to discuss this more with you.Thankyou.

Four of us dined here as itâs usually consistently good quality food at a reasonable price with great service. Unfortunately this time although the service was the usual good standard the food wasnât. Two of us had duck with red cabbage and dauphinoise potato. My duck was chewy and raw in the middle.... which Iâm prepared to accept as I like mine quite pink but the fat had not been rendered and the skin wasnât crispy.... in fact it was blubbery. The duck had obviously not been cooked properly and rested. The potato was not cooked through in the middle which meant I only ate the outside slices. My friend asked for a steak knife to separate the fat from the meat on her duck. Lots of waste on my plate which is a bit of a shame when you are paying for a full plate of edible food. Hopefully this was just a bad day in the kitchen. Our other two meals.... fish and chips and sea bass were fine.

Based in the picturesque village of Roughlee near Nelson sits this lovely cosy pub. After surviving a kitchen fire in 2016 this quaint village came together and restored this beautiful building to its former glory. Harvesting the finest seasonal produce s
Love this place. The food is always great, served by friendly staff and the atmosphere is homely with a choice of three different areas, each with its own character. The real ale is always spot on, and most importantly, itâs dog friendly with water bowls and treats around.
