Nine chaps for lunch in this lovely old pub set in the Cheshire village of Swettenham. Started with a very friendly welcome and a very good range of cask beers. Quite an extensive menu and the food really was exceptional. This was supported by the friendly staff.

Lovely ambience and decor....staff were great, Iâve heard the rooms are beautiful, however I thought the food was just average . Had the deli boards and although the effort was made to present the food correctly, I just felt it was a little bland, I would go back to try other things off the menu to give this place a second chance as itâs a .great place to socialise and drink .

Myself and my partner both had family down for the weekend and were recommended here for Sunday dinner and we werenât disappointed, they were more than accommodating for our group of 10 one of whom is disabled which they more than catered for his requirements, the Decor is modern with a warm feel can imagine it would be lovely over the festive period,we all had roast dinners which were plentiful and totally enjoyable my daughter is a fussy eater yet ate all hers to,we also had mojitos which were delicious, all this plus being reasonably priced and staff being very prompt and pleasant certainly guarantees we will be returning and would recommend to anyone.

I took my friend here for her birthday as a surprise as she lives outside the area. We booked a table and arrived early to be greeted by friendly staff who took us to our table. We were told about the menu and there were quite a few items that were not available. We decided on the Mezze shared platter only to be told that the falafels weren't available and we were asked if we would like extra deep fried Brie which was fine. The other little dishes were ok but just a bit of a strange mix.......... very large portion of flat/pitta bread, small dish of chopped beetroot? small dish of pickled vegetables? small dish of tzatziki topped with slices of pepper and a small dish of hummus topped with nuts/seeds. Not sure what happened to the spiced red pepper dip! There was nothing wrong with it other than a bit of a strange mix? Nice place but I would choose something different next time.We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at The Bear's Head. Thank you for bringing these issues to my attention, and I will share your comments regarding the Mezze platter with the chefs. I do hope to see you again in the future.

A traditional canal side watering hole, steeped in waterways culture and heritage. Boat shaped bar features no corporates but 6 local craft ales and 3 local craft lagers are made available alongside real ciders and perrys. The food is quite simply out of
I went with some family and friends for my hen party, and we booked in to the Cosy Tea Room. We shared a mixture of the classic afternoon tea and the gentleman's afternoon tea. All the food was amazing, really fresh and very tasty, and there was plenty of it! After we finished the afternoon tea we stayed on to have drinks until the pub closed. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Really lovely afternoon/evening!

We called at the Crown Inn as part of a large group of classic car enthusiasts. There were 24 people in our party so we had preordered food. The menu is wide and varied with something for every taste. The staff had set aside the conservatory for us so that we could all sit and dine together. This was a lovely space with plenty of ventilation - comfortable for such a hot day! Our meals were served quickly and the waiting staff were very efficient. The food was well presented, amply portioned and really tasty. I was pleased to see that the childrenâs meals were served first as âlittle peopleâ find it difficult to wait! Everyone was impressed with the food, the surroundings and the helpfulness of staff. I would highly recommend this establishment to others and we will certainly be visiting again to sample more of the menu.Hi Therese,Thank you for such a lovely review, weâd be happy to host your group again! Many thanks,Chloe.

We arrived early evening and were seated in a light and airy dining room beside the main pub. From the lengthy menu we chose and were delighted by the massive fish pie (14.95) with large pieces of salmon, haddock and prawns and scampi and chips (12.95). The steak baguette with skin on fries (9.50) was also good without being outstanding The warm triple chocolate brownie and ice cream (6.50) to finish was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive.

As a birthday treat, my mum took me to the Fox and Hounds and we throughly enjoyed it. The food was amazing- high quality ingredients and really delicious. The lemon Eaton Mess was to die for! The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable regarding the menu and at the end of the meal, the Manager came to check that everything was good. Canât recommend this place highly enough, especially as it was also dog friendly! Iâd go every day just for the chips alone!
