Visited Garstang enroute to returning home on Saturday. Called for lunch, un be known to us it must have been a bad time for them. Two other customers had been waiting to be served as we entered the bar. They both left stating they had been ignored by the two bar staff. Their patience exhausted they left. We persevered and gained their attention and placed an order. We were acknowledged as diners because we were given a knife and fork. Forty five minutes later we asked if our order was going to arrive. We were told it would be another ten minutes. Fearing the worst that the fare that would arrive would be a disaster was unfounded. It was hot well cooked and served by very attentive staff. A little communication to customers explaining there would be a delay would have helped enormously. In summary good food but boy did we have to wait for it.

Used to come here in the 1970s so was really happy when my son and his wife suggested we paid it a visit. All our food was freshly prepared and mostly locally sourced. Delicious mains left some of the party too full for desert but my cheese platter was stunning.Service was great and all the staff were friendly. We'll go back.

A friend and I popped in to lunch whilst passing and were most impressed with the food on offer ,the spacious ambience of the place and the friendly and prompt service .We both had the steak and kidney pudding with a red wine sauce (and vegetables) and were delighted with our choice. Recommended.

TODAY BLEW ME AWAY FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONSHubby got a lovely voucher for afternoon tea for 2 here at Stepping Stones in Garstang for his Christmas present from his boss. My daughter has finished teaching for half term so invited her and granddaughter. My idea was that she could eat my half of all 3 tiers and we could have some quality time .. So phoned up restaurant to book. Afternoon tea for 2 and 1 diabetic (me). 'Don't worry chef will sort something'. I expected a salad which I would have been more than happy with. What happened when I arrived almost moved me to tears. The lady (married to the owner, her words) greeted me and showed us to our table overlooking the most gorgeous riverside, very picturesque. ***She had gone online to get diabetic recipes so she could mirror an afternoon tea for me!!!!!***As many diabetic websites advocate low fat, wholemeal bread and fruit this is what she put together. Exquisitely!!!She had bought wholemeal bread for sandwiches, low fat spread, and filled them with egg and low fat mayo, tuna, ham and low fat cheese. Spinach quiche, humus and chili crisps, mixed fruit involving lots of grapes with Greek yoghurt (low fat). Cakes of many varieties including avocado and banana, apple pie, scone, chocolate cake, lemon drizzle cake, walnut cake. All made with sweetener, erythritol! And low fat. She had done all this for one afternoon tea....for me!!!I sampled EVERYTHING.You could not tell sweetener was involved or low fat for that matter and my blood sugars are loving it too!!! my blood sugar monitor enjoyed it as much as I did. So a massive THANK YOU for making my day! Nobody has ever gone to so much trouble. I always feel such a pain with my faddy eating, but not today. I felt very much a part of an afternoon tea experience. The place itself is a scenic drive from Blackpool to Garstang. Set in rolling countryside right by the riverside. Stunning views. Service was faultless as was the food!! So if anyone is looking for somewhere beautiful to sit and enjoy an afternoon tea or a nice meal or just glass of wine looking out at lovely country views look no further. This place is highly recommended. We will certainly be going again.Thank you Debra for a really complimentary review. We are very pleased that your blood sugars as well as you enjoyed the experience. The 'lady married to the owner' is me, also a Deborah. We look forward to seeing you in the future and thank you once again for taking the time to write a fabulous review.

Near Garstang
Came here a few weeks ago. Rang ahead to make sure they were still serving the beef and booked a table. Took the dog who is welcomed albeit him not liking other dogs coming up to him and hence barked at the landlords spaniel (sorry about that). The roasts dinners I have to say are fantastic, slow cooked and tender beef. Fantastic mash and roasties. Lovely yorkshire puddings and lovely veg too, extra gravey was no problem and all for £12.95.It was so nice we ve already been back for another treat last week.

Brilliant Bar and Bistro that also does great coffee throughout the day! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This was our first visit to Cobblers Bar & Bistro. Nice dining area and outside tables. We had cheese and pickle sandwich and prawn with rosemarie sauce sandwich. Both served with salad and crisps. Staff are very nice and the food was tasty. Will definitely visit again Thanks for the great feedback

Ate here midweek with family. This is a lovely building, with a "proper" pub feel (lots of little rooms, traditionally kitted out), very comfortable. The place was pretty busy and dealt with a lot of orders at 6pm, when they start doing food. We had starters and mains - the starters themselves would have counted as a lunch, being very generous, and the mains were huge. They offer a pretty sensible "pub" type menu and also have a variety of specials - all at sensible prices. I'd ordered a fish dish - the piece of fish was double the size I'd anticipated. The rest of the (pretty large) plate was filled too with the rest of the dish! All tasty and served piping hot. Very friendly staff who genuinely seem to care about everyone's experience -whether it's simply choosing the right drink at the bar, or staying to eat. They do rooms too, which I hadn't realised, and it's somewhere I'd be more than happy to stay, as I suspect the experience would be very enjoyable! A lovely, relaxed atmosphere....such a shame we live so far away, but will happily return if and when I'm next in the area.

The Horns Inn is a stylish Country Pub where you can catch up with friends, unwind after work or simply find a sophisticated space to indulge in an excellent selection of food and drink. The 'Horns' had been a popular pub and eating-place for locals and
Just off the A6 is this friendly pub.The bar staff were friendly and helpful. There was a decent selection of beers. There are several pleasant dining areas. The menu was extensive and a little complicated. In the end we opted for the lunchtime special of two courses for £10. Lots of choices. The place seemed quite busy but service was prompt, well done the chef. Our choices were really good and the portions larger than some places standard fare. The lunch special is a real bargain with no drop in standard.Would highly recommend for above-average pub food.
