The Award Winning Renoufs Cheese and Wine Bar brings a great new dining concept to Wimborne, Dorset. We boast a superb selection of Cheese and Charcuterie to pair with our extensive selection of wines. We believe we are the only venue in Dorset to be able
We had not tried Renoufs before so we're not sure what to expect. After all, the idea of just cheese and wine as a meal seemed a bit lightwieght. However the welcome was great and all the staff were attentive and friendly. We took some time to choose our food as the choice was good and varied. Wine is available by the glass or the bottle. The wine list is vast and we needed some guidance luckily their American sommelier (sorry we didn't ask his name) is absolutely first class. In fact I would say he was the best and most knowledgeable sommelier I have ever encountered. His recommendations were spot on and we were introduced to some fantastic wines we would not have chosen if left to our own devices. When the food arrived we thought maybe this would not be enough, however how wrong could we be. With unlimited supplies of bread and biscuits all four of us failed to eat everything. There were some great cheese options I particularly enjoyed the horseradish cheddar. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and felt that prices were fair which means your bill is not huge but the restaurant makes a decent profit which means they should be around for a long time. I certainly hope so as we will be returning soon.

So many pubs these days are so plastic but not this one. Large car park and clean toilets. Comfortable seating with lots of space.Friendly service too. Good sandwiches.

This was my first visit to The Owls Nest and I hope it wont be my last. Whilst there is no getting away from the fact the place is in need of some urgent TLC the atmosphere was welcoming as were the staff. I ordered the roast lamb from the specials board and it and the accompanying vegetables were extremely tasty and the portion size exactly right. This was washed down with a pleasant glass of Merlot, all at a reasonable price. y friend had scampi and chips which she said was fine. The place is full of owl memorabilia so if you have an aversion to owls, don't go there!

Horns Inn was a lovely venue and the outdoor area was really nice. Food took 40 minutes to arrive which was okay because we were a large party. The restaurant seemed under staffed and service wasn't brilliant, food seemed to be thrown at you and I had to leave my meal and go to the bar for glasses as the jug of water was brought to the table with no glasses. Service needs to improve.

Went for lunch as its not the area we usually visit, I used to go there years ago so hoped it was as good....well it was better, plenty of choice and friendly service. The only downside was the loud party on a nearby table who arrived after we sat so couldn't move !! Will go again maybe for the Sunday car very.

Our Sunday roast was fairly reasonable, although the roast potatoes were very hard and difficult to cut and eat.The staff were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the meal itself didn't do justice to their hard work.

Visited The Pear at Parley as we were looking for somewhere in between our friends in Bournemouth and our place in Verwood. I was able to easily book online, and the confirmation was received promptly. On arrival we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the convivial bar area. The restaurant was buzzing but not noisy. The décor is light and airy and tables well space apart. We had arrived at the same time as a large party, so our order wasnât taken right away â in fact it was a half hour after we sat down - however we had been served drinks and were happy catching up in conversation with our friends. Our server took our order and we were offered complimentary bread given the wait. We ordered a couple of bottles of wine but noticed on being served noticed that they werenât what we ordered â apparently a mix up at the bar. Nevertheless, the service staff dealt with the mix up very efficiently and friendly. Now for the best bit, the food. I enjoyed the Soup of the Day, potato and spring onion, piping hot and tasty without being too onion-y, served with plenty of rustic bread while my husband and friends tucked into the Tempura Prawns. I had the fish and chips â a massive portion of battered fish and just the right amount of crispy chunky chips. My husband and friend really ârelishedâ the house burger and our other friend enjoyed his filet steak with a side order of MASSIVE but tasty onion rings. I was too full for dessert, but my husband and one friend split the cheese board while my other friend polished off mixed ice cream from a selection of many flavours offered. The menu has a lot of offer with starters ranging from £3.75 up to £9.75 and mains £12.95 - £25.95. We all agreed that the food was fantastic, the service warm and friendly and that weâll all be back (hopefully) soon!

All the time I have been living in the area, I had never been here. Found it as it was close to work and on trip advisor. This place is a must visit. The food was spectacular, thank you chef. Wine was smooth and lush. And the waitresses couldnât be more accommodating and kind. Yet discreet. The decor was beautiful and cosy. I will return. Spread the word about this little gem. Thank you Kings Arms.

First visit - strange mix of bar - restaurant - live entertainment ! Booked for meet up with friends but def not the place for a quiet chat ! Made worse by the noisiest table next to us in Bournemouth ! The food was good however - Would say its more of a bar with food than somewhere to go and eat - which is a shame as the food and restaurant area is nice ! Plus ordering at bar and then having to queue at the bar your meal to pay on a busy Friday night isnât the best way to get return business !! Good vibe but confused identity - seemed / felt disorganised Hi DinerSouthsea -you've hit the nail right on the head, I think - we're a bar that serves really good food, and have live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, which has been really popular with our regular clientele for the last 3 years. There's a huge welcome sign as you come in that recommends you order at the bar, although we're always happy to take your order at the table if you prefer - just ask us when you arrive, although we'll reinforce staff training to make sure we're all more aware of attention to detail as a consequence of your review so thankyou :)
