17th Century old coaching inn situated in the centre of this thriving downland village. A real hub of the local community but also attracting people from most surrounding areas along with visitors to this area. A pub with several bars and function room pl
The beer is kept well, it's Harvey's from Lewis, so it's not only good it's quite local. On the day I was there there was a full lunch menu, but a restricted menu for evening meals, basically pizza and burgers. There is a friendly atmosphere. Many of the locals bring dogs so it can smell a bit. A good village pub.

Years since I'd been here. Hardly changed a bit. If you want a classic English country pub, this is for you! Traditional decor including brasses etc.Greeted by Chef on arrival for lunch. Food was excellent, staff friendly. Including the pub dog!Very good portions, hot and fresh. Eat inside (four areas) or outside (some great views)A little overpriced but worth it.

Have used this pub on numerous occasions over 20 years . The food is always really good and the staff friendly and helpful. Looks and feels like a proper beamed pub, with a nice garden for the summer including a heated and covered outside area. Need some TLC on the décor but otherwise a stereotypicval old world country pubThere is no SKY TV...which is a pleasant change, just some general backround music which makes for a chilled experience and the opportunity to socialise.Occasional Quizes and live music enhance the experience. Its dog friendly and walker friendly (its near south downs). All in all if this is the sort of country pub you want, you wont be disappointed.Have seen the review from BM2853 and not sure they are reviewing the right pub.... or their expectations must be different, or they were just looking to for something to complain about. Its a popular local hostelry for good reasons. The beer is well kept, and if there are any issues the staff will resolve them.

We booked a table for 12 here and walked from nearby BlackBerry Wood campsite (leave an hour to do this walk! Lovely but tricky route!). They accommodated the large number of us really well and were careful and understanding of a member of our partyâs food allergy. We had delicious food (childrenâs menu was good value too) and great wine. The service was really good and the lady (seemed like the manager) was super friendly and personable. Hermione, begins the bar, was really lovely and helpful too ensuring that we were well looked after... I would recommend this pub/restaurant - we had a great evening and felt we had received wonderful hospitality on Tuesday evening this week. Thank you.

Nestled on the high street of Hurstpierpoint village, Morleys Bistro is proud to serve excellent food in comfortable relaxed restaurant atmosphere. It's the perfect place to relax with friends and family for a drink, breakfast, lunch or an evening meal.
We visited for my sons birthday. Quite busy for a Tuesday night but the service was excellent. Food was very good particularly the pork belly. Will definitely be returning and have no hesitation in recommending for a great evening. Thank you.

We had a meal at The Plough whilst staying in Pyecombe, walking the South Downs Way. Itâs more like a restaurant with drinking area rather than a pub. Having said that the service was very friendly and good. The food was good too with generous portions. My husbands steak was tender and well cooked. Good place for an evening meal.

The inglenook Long bar and sofa areas make this area a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a chat with friends any night of the week. It is a great place to pop in for a drink with a huge variety of wines, beers and spirits. For summer days and encl

Stayed here one night midweek with the intention of dining in the restaurant, quite empty for a Wednesday evening. Small menu with courteous and attentive service. My partridge portion was meagre but well-cooked with some interesting pancetta bonbons and iridescent green cauliflower. The poached pear had sold out, so pudding was on the house. A homemade slab on battenburg, a scoop of ice cream and a scattering of what looked like a spoonful of Special K breakfast cereal. Uninspiring. The room, on the other hand, was top notch.

I have eaten here twice recently, once for a Sunday lunch and again one Tuesday evening. We were really impressed by the roasts; I had the nut roast, which was delicious and the others all had pork and beef. The menu caters for everyone with a good choice of vegetarian options. The meal was beautifully presented and reasonably priced. Friendly, courteous staff and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We came with four friends to celebrate a special birthday. They had booked a table which would be essential as the place was packed. There is plenty of parking. We had a wonderful evening. The food drinks and service were excellent. The menu is quite large and we would recommend looking on line if possible to get an idea of what you want to eat. The portions are large. Everything was hot and there were plenty of lovely vegetables. Thank you for a memorable evening.
