Superb food, wine and really good service. We asked for a few modifications to dishes on offer and they accommodated no questions asked.Really recommend this place for lunch or dinner

We had a great Saturday out with friends eating at this pub. Danny and his team were all responsive to our needs. (For example, we wanted to share a Baked Camembert but one of us was gluten-free. Happily they supplied gluten-free bread to go with the normal fare.) Very friendly atmosphere and they welcome dogs. Will be back again soon!

The Grantley arms is a newly refurbished stunning community pub with a great range of beers and fresh food, where drinkers and eaters alike are looked after with the same friendly and professional service. We serve delicious freshly prepared food all day
A pleasant ride over The Surrey Hills from our home on a lovely September afternoon. We really must visit The Grantley more often-friendly,efficient staff and management, excellent food (including one of the "speciasl"-steak and mushroom pie-one of my favourites) and dining al fresco in the garden-what could be better?

Established in 1873, The Sir Roger Tichborne, is the idyllic, independent, family run countryside pub. Recently refurbished, the pub has a relaxed, friendly and informal feel. Locally sourced fresh produce is cooked daily and a wide selection of craft bee
We have a monthly pub walk and have so far visited 139 establishments. Most have good food and reasonable service. Today we had 18 walkers. The menu had excellent choice and everyone said how much they enjoyed their food. Not only delicious, but ample too. Service was fast and friendly

A classic traditional pub with wood floors throughout, beams everywhere, an inglenook fireplace with a roaring fire in winter and wood paneling in the snug bar. The menu is traditional as well, with meals like Ham Egg and Chips, Steak and Mushroom Pie, Li

The setting is perfect ... a traditional pub in a beautiful English village serving the good old British roast besides other nice offerings on the menu The local brew ale was also very good. Very friendly and welcoming service. Prior as very reasonable.

Dropped in for a bar snack and a drink for 3 of us. We were not offered the snack menu, but when it was presented we discovered it was limited to just 4 sandwich choices. Mine was ham and piccalilli in brown bread. I was served thick slices of fat, with a minimum of meat, drowned in piccalilli liquid - result was the bread disintegrated and the 'ham' was hardly edible and the meal could only be eaten with a knife and fork. Not a good choice by either the chef, nor myself. 2 other, slightly better, sandwiches with 2 small house wines and a pint of lager came to about £35. I'm afraid it wasn't, for me, value for money.Hello Vanninman,Thank you for your feedback from your recent visit with us at lunchtime. We've recently changed to our Summer menu and are always happy to take our guests feedback on board to assure we are always serving the good stuff. Since reading your thoughts on our Hamhock Sandwich we have changed the recipe and we now offer the Homemade Piccalilli on the side.We hope you will come back at try our Summer Menu again, our evening menu has some delicious seasonal dishes we are sure you will enjoy. Thanks again,The Richard Onslow Team

I have reviewed a reasonable number of restaurants and this is only the second 1 star score attributed. Reserved a table by phone, arrived a few minutes before the agreed time. I was shown to a table by the barman and then ....nothing. No menu, no offer of a drink. 12 minutes passed, waiting staff drifted through the restaurant, looking after a table of about 10 and another couple. There were no other diners present so it wasnât busy. Then a new diner arrives and is immediately given a menu. This was more than the bridge could bear. Waitress was approached who offered a half hearted apology accompanied by asking me if I had seated myself! On being told that I had not and I was leaving, the defaulting barman was identified, although Iâm not sure it was necessarily his fault. Result- one lost cover which Iâm sure wonât break their bank but is so irritating. On the plus side, a 1km walk took me back into the town and an excellent Thai restaurant (review to follow). And I was offered a menu and a drink on arrival. Dear TriskelionI very rarely respond to reviews but in this case I feel I really ought too as I have to completely disagree with your comments.I think it is fair to outline what happened with a bit more accuracy. You sat in the barn area which was busy and put your head down buried in your phone and no point did you make any attempt to make eye contact or speak to any of the waitresses. Unsurprisingly they thought you must be waiting for someone to join them. Instead of just making some attempt at communication you continued to stare at your phone until after 5 mins (as checked on CCTV) you decided to have an unbelievably rude rant at one of my staff and stormed out threatening to leave a poor review. My staff may have not realised that you were alone and ready but your reaction both at the time and since are quite frankly totally over the top. As soon as they realised they offered you a drink and menu but you clearly had no intention of accepting their apology.

Very Traditional Family run Restaurant in a 16th Century Oak Beamed Barn. Full of atmosphere and serving food with substance.
Visited twice recently. Both times excellent service, wonderful food. Wide choice on menu. Their fish dishes are really good. They also accommodated our gluten-free diner extremely well. Only one small point - only one choice of lager on draft and no bottled lager at all. Thanks Claire for your comments. Pleased that you have enjoyed your time with us and I agree Fran puts some lovely fish dishes on the menu. If you ever want a particular fish please don't hesitate to let us know in advance and we will gladly get it for you. Point taken about the lager and we have already tried to improve this situation today...only problem is as much as she can cook nice fish, she also has a penchant for bottled lager and tends to drink us dry!! I sincerely hope when you come again this situation has improved.
