We open most days from 12 & the classic barn menu is always available to nourish a faithful Barner & newcomer alike, on some days we offer more but aim to never offer less... We close the kitchen door depending on the weather, cider consumption and the ph
Where should I start? What a lovely place. Feels like your local pub, everyone was so friendly, food was amazing, especially the ploughmans lunch (draycott blue). Great selection of ciders and local beers. Lots of live bands throughout the month. Cant recommend how much you need to visit the cider barn. Be warned, once you've been you wont want to go anywhere else!

Stayed at âThe Darlingtonâ this weekend with a group of friends. Penny was absolutely lovely. She was so accommodation to us even though her chef ended up walking out the day we arrived. What we lacked in a chef we made up for in fabulous weather and a lovely beer garden. Needless to say the Thatcher went down a treat.Clean rooms, comfy yet lightly smaller bed (good for a cuddle)For a cute little pub/B & B in the middle of nowhere, it really ticked a load of boxes for the whole of our party. Thank you

Pleasant dining area, efficient service though we found the food quite rich. We were given some amuse bouches.. little pots of soup which were actually delicious. The starter was excellent, crispy strips of beef with crisp vegetables, chilli & lime. Excellent.. The main course of fish pie with salmon, cod, prawn, mussel & cheesy mash really didn't need the whitebait which were stuck in the top. Very rich - keep it simple.I had the roast cod loin with leek veloute - yes, tasty, though could easily have done without the crisp fried mussels. For dessert we shared a lemon posset with raspberries but again the shortbread had chocolate in it - keep it simple. Neither of us like chocolate (must be rare, I know!) so we didn't eat that. All in all, nice presentation though & enjoyed a good bottle of wine.

Just nipped in for lunch because they allowed dogs in a separate room. It was like stepping back to 1975! Roast dinner was edible, gravy like water, frozen Yorkshire pudding, veg was fresh( this was the best bit) meat was like something from a ready meal. Full of over 60s who probably been going there since 1970! We had a laugh about it... should be on Ramseyâs restaurant nightmares!

The Plough is a gorgeous village pub with a reputation as the best place to relax, eat and enjoy yourself in the area. It has a classic country feel, whilst being very up to date in terms of its superb country food and second-to-none service and atmospher
Pre-ordered for 16 on a Saturday afternoon for my 70th birthday celebration. Our party included 2 granddaughters and a third requiring a high chair. Very friendly welcome by Bridie and her front of house colleagues and fantastic food courtesy of Aaron Tolmie and his team in the kitchen. Portions were generous and very well presented and the atmosphere so relaxed. Blessed by the weather we could play boules between courses and afterwards.Thank you to all concerned for another great meal and keep up the good work.

We have visited this pub 3/4 times each time the service was very slow one time they had run out of all draught beer and cider and waited around an hour for a burger Visited this pub again this weekend noticed people were waiting long time for food so we didnât bother to order The pub looks tired garden furniture is in need of replacing falling to bits with splinters from were the furniture is rottingThis pub could be excellent with great views but needs shaking up Will be a time before visiting again David M Clevedon
We went to The Lamb and Flag for an evening meal, as we didnât want the hassle of going into Taunton. We were greeted by friendly, energetic staff, who looked after us all evening. Beautifully presented, tasty food, from a very interesting menu. The pub itself is in a beautiful location on the Blackdown Hills, and has a gorgeous garden. Would highly recommend a visit, this will be our âgo toâ pub from now on, well worth checking out!

We stopped here for a late afternoon summer evening meal as we were staying nearby. We had a burger and fries and kt was lovely. Homemade birger and skin on fries were delicious. They also had lots of local ales and ciders available too.

First of all canât deny that everything we were served was home cooked and very tasty. Both the beef and turkey were succulent and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The set up is a little odd though and not a carvery as such. Meat is carved and given to you with Yorkshire and stuffing. The veg and gravy is then served to your table and as first time visitors we didnât realise you could ask for more. One dish of cabbage and cauliflower cheese between 5 is not enough the other veg carrots, broccoli and parsnips was ample. We asked for more gravy and made do with the veg. The table next to us started a little later and between six they asked for at least 3 dishes of each which they were served. Lovely waitress did ask if we wanted more but we had finished what we had so was a little late. If you go just donât hesitate to ask for more I guess is the message. If the carvery was extended to include help yourself veg this would be a five star review. For now 3.5 out of 5 but definitely delicious food. Next time I wonât be shy to ask for more!!!Hi, thank you for your review. I'm sorry for the confusion over the vegetables, we normally tell our guests to just ask if they would like more vegetables, so please don't be put off from coming again. We have now reverted back to help yourself to vegetables to see how it goes. (the bringing vegetables to the table was a trial to see if we could reduce the amount of vegetables being piled on plates and not being eaten - some Sundays we were getting massive amounts of wastage)!
