Set in the heart of Mumbles with breathtaking views of Swansea bay, the Mumtaz is a family run restaurant and takeaway providing traditional Indian hospitality, exceptional cuisine and charming service.
We have visited on several occasions since moving to Swansea and have always had great food, excellent service and the staff have been friendly. Our only concern now is that the restaurant has dropped to a low food hygiene rating following a recent inspection. We do hope changes will be made and this will improve.

Brilliant service and wonderful food! The atmosphere was delightful and cheerful, and together with the interior design of the restaurant, the experience was lovely. Special shoutout to my server, Noor, for his friendly conversation, I'll definitely be coming back!

The only Indonesian restaurant in Wales which has been open since 2000. The chef, ani, is originally from Medan in Sumatra.
Paid our 2nd visit to this wonderful unique place. We love everything about this place. The atmosphere, the staff and the ambiance. But most of all ..........the food.Ani ( youâll meet her ) is a genius. This is the only genuine Indonesian restaurant in Wales! The food is fresh, can be tweaked on request. By that I mean by that is food can be made more or less spicy according to your taste. On our 2 visits I have tried a really hot prawn special dish. And second visit a wonderful cod dish. A bit less spicy, but still delicious. You can bring your own wine and beer if you like. And there is no charge.I hope this review is of use to you if you read it. It is always wonderful to hear that people have enjoyed their visit to the Garuda and we are always grateful for anyone who takes the trouble to send in a review. Our restaurant is small and unpretentious but thanks to Ani, so many people have loved trying Indonesian food. To us, customers are not just people coming through the door, they feel like good friends and we are truly happy when they return time and again. Thank you for your support.

Award Winning Authentic Chinese Cuisine - Gigi Gao's Favourite Authentic Chinese was awarded The Best Oriental Restaurant in Wales in April 2018 by The Golden Chopsticks Awards 2018 in Mayfair, London. Appreciate all our great customers' support in last 3
I with my wife, son and grandson visited the restaurant in the pouring rain on Saturday night. We had a good selection of starters for which my grandson suddenly came awake and his chopsticks also came alive as he devoured the seaweed, crackers and the duck. Everyone enjoyed their mains me of course ordering the chairmans stewed pork which I think is amazing. We all enjoyed the food and the evening as a whole as the staff are so friendly and have a good sense of humour. We will be visiting again and can recommend this fine dining chinese restaurant.

Weâve been visiting The Indian Cottage weekly recently with the Meerkat Offer. Buy one main and get one main free. This really is a fabulous offer. Weâve had birianis, chicken curry and dhansaks all have been good. I do find their meals are little bit too spicy at times though! But Iâm a wus with my curries! We usually have two poppadoms and a chutney tray but find itâs a bit pricey at £4.10 as we only eat two of the chutneys - the onions and the mint sauce anyway so we omitted it this time and just had two poppadoms and mint sauce which was less than £2. Which suits us much better. Will we return yes definitely.

Ordered a takeaway which was overall very good Chicken Thika Pathia and Hash deluxe with two different rice and nanns. The Pathia was special but the Hash {duck} was very chewy this is probably my mistake in choosing duck which doesn't stand up to Indian cooking processes and marinating won't make the same mistake when I return and stick to chicken or lamb, all round good food and good service can recommend

Ended up at this place without planning and we were not disappointed. Everything we tried was delicious! The service and staff were very good. The only thing that made me feel uncomfortable was the seating arrangement. We had no space to ourselves as everyone sits at this one long table. Now this just could be me being fussy... as the place as this place was constantly busy while we were there. I believe the regulars don't mind sharing a table with strangers. Its a small place and the owners probably don't have a choice of how to lay out the seating. Their delicious food and great service makes it worth putting up with the space issue. I recommend u eat here!! You will love it! :)
