Find out what French restaurants to try in Pondicherry. Pondicherry’s bougainvilleas, crumbling cathedrals and leafy boulevards might occasionally make you wonder if you’re in the south of France instead of a former French colony. But it's also unmistakably Indian, with colorful festivals, the famous monument of Aayi Mandapam, and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Quiet beaches stretch north and south from town, good for swimming and sunrise strolls.

Unique cafe in set in a French art-deco house, featuring works of local and European contemporary artists. Serves one the best French and Continental food in town, with free wi-fi.
The highlight here is clearly the setting: sitting and eating in an interior courtyard shaded by trees. It's peaceful and provides some rest from the heat. As for the menu, you'll have the opporrunity to eat good quality meals, mostly Western. The créole salad is excellent as well as the Artika special fresh juice (coconut water with ginger, lemon and mint).

Wonderful ambience in a French Indian Villa. Had Anniversary Lunch in The Courtyard after hours of travelling in Pondicherry. Fresh Lime Soda along with Veggies tikka was just marvellous and awesome. Enjoyed our time their and recommended for all. Either you can sit inside or outside.

DisDis & Co is very close to Dupleix statue - nearly the heart of Pondicherry tourist map. The place is nicely setup in a courtyard with sitting at different zones - outsize, half covered and fully A/C area. But the food lack a bit of variety. Actually, it was more of regular food offering nothing too unique. Food taste was good though - we tried sizzlers. Service was courteous and prompt.

Nice place to have dinner with family. Ambiance and preparations were good. Only thing one should be careful in ordering north Indian dishes, we experienced that the Mughlai Chicken was no where near a Mughlai dish. Rest dishes were prepared and served well.

The ambiance is the biggest attraction - seating is spread throughout the rooms of an old colonial home and garden. There are also clothing and slippers and accessories for sale. Croissants were quite good, eggs were unimpressive as was the coffee. They also have a non dairy soy milk option for coffee.

We came here for brunch. They have a kind of hippy/rasta vibe. If you like your coffee strong, I would advise against the coffee as we found it a bit weak. Maybe going for a tea would be a better idea! We took a basil lemonade and a ginger and lemon juice and both were divine. They have a real fresh feel to them! We had two brocolli quiches as well which were AMAZING. For dessert we shared a banana and cinnamon crepe which was also lovely. If you feel like having a healthy brunch I would highly recommend this place. The service is a little on the slow side so don't come with expectations that you will receive your food very quickly. The staff are all lovely and very attentive.

Late evening dinner. Ordered Cesar salad, Steak with Red wine sauce and a plate of Momos. Nice salad with juicy chicken. Soft tender steak with good tasting sauce and perfect French fries. The momos was not like Delhi style momos, but stil nice tasting. All topped up with very friendly staff that made you feel more than welcome.

It's a Café/Crêperie/Boutique with a kids area (books, games). We serve sweet and savoury crêpes, quiches, big salads, cakes, hot and cold drinks.
The food at Crepe in Touch is simply amazing! We had a savory (Ouessant) and a sweet (Salted Butter Caramel) crepe, both of which were really good. But the surprising highlight was the Carantec salad. This was probably the freshest and one of the best salads weâve ever had. It looks like any run of the mill salad dish but tastes awesome. The ambiance is lovely and laid back. The host and staff are friendly as well. This was without doubt the best café that we visited during our short trip. A must visit for any food lover!Thank you so much!
Where to eat Italian food in Pondicherry: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Nice cool new cafe on canal road between White Town and Black Town, towards the Muslim quarter, this cafe is not far from the heritage areas, and close to Cazy Street - worth checking out - and I like this cafe for the best cafe I've had in Pondicherry. Clean, stylish, modern, with a large menu including salads, international cuisine and local dishes, this has a hip bike theme, and friendly staff. Prices reasonable, and you can sit and look out at the world go by.
