Things to do in Bihac
Zwei unterschiedliche Besuche. Einmal Top, einmal Flop.
If you enjoy nature and have a thing for beauty then you should visit this place. Barbecue restaurant with nice and tasty food and very affordable prices. Drinking a glass of wine while enjoying the view is just extraordinary. They have local fish on the menu and also all kinds of meat except pork. There arenât many places that serve pork in this town, but for me itâs not a big deal as long as it is tasty and waiters are friendly and polite. I like this place mostly because it offers a historical view on the famous bridge over river Una. Maybe the waterfall will be too loud but that is just a thing you end up enjoying. I recommend this restaurant if youâre in town and the weather is sunny.

Went there with a family of for. Grumpy waiter didnt speak English. Took a table but had not been cleaned in at least a month Then waited, waited and waited some more. Although there were waiters, they just sat at a table and talked and smoked. After 20 minutes of waiting we left...Tip; drive 1 more kilometer in direction Sarajevo and try Riverdock. Same beautifull view and great staff

Belvedere Restaurant was a welcome find while we were driving through Bihac, Bosnia on a cold, dark winter's evening. We had finished a day hiking in Plitvice National Park, Croatia and decided to "pop over to Bosnia" on the way back to Zagreb. Using the GPS we managed to find the city of Bihac but finding a restaurant was slightly more difficult. We drove around until we saw a row of shops, and the facade of the Hotel Belvedere stood out as a good restaurant possibility. We were able to have a cosy table right near the fireplace. The service was very friendly even though the server did not really speak much English. We enjoyed the food and the portions were huge! One funny language misunderstanding happened about the salads. I ordered a salad and my partner said he would like to order a salad too, so he put up two fingers when he ordered salad. When the salads arrived his was different lettuce than mine and served on a large platter rather than in a salad bowl. Everything was fresh and tasty so we thought nothing of it except maybe they serve men larger portions than women! My partner ordered an Italian-type veal dish and it came with what we assumed to be fried Bosnian dumplings all around it. Delicious but filling! I had a meat dish as well with delicious sauce and a side of chips. We sampled the local Bosnian red wine, which was quite light but totally drinkable. When we received the bill we were able to pay with a visa card, which was lucky since we had forgotten to get any local currency for this spontaneous trip. We queried the charge for 3 salads since we had only ordered two and the restaurant quickly changed it to two. As we were leaving a different server came up to us to tell us that we had actually ordered three salads (my partner putting up 2 fingers had been interpreted as 2 salads for him) but they said we did not have to pay. They just did not want us to think they tried to cheat us. We felt terrible we had not currently to leave a tip because they were really so nice and helpful! We left happy, warm and very well-fed.One negative is that smoking is still allowed inside at the restaurant and the other two tables both had smokers, but that's more of a cultural thing than a comment against the restaurant.

We had lunch here and chose the restaurant by location, it is situated at the river and on the terasse one has a beautiful view on a warm sunny day. This is a non alcoholic and no pork restaurant, so we ordered a water and coke, both arrived very quickly. The trouts I had where very good, but the French fries soft and soaked. The chicken Schnitzel was large and good but the sea food risotto was very far from any sea (like Bihac is), there where like two small mussels in there, thatâs about it. The waiter was very friendly and we could pay with EUR at a reasonable rate. Bring always small ⬠notes, all change is BAM.For Bosnia this is most likely a bit a pricey place, but we paid for the above plus cafe like 9⬠each, so we were happy. definitely go there if you can forgo the beer....

Just 45 minutes away from Plitvice Lake is a darling waterfront restaurant with excellent food and great service. We found this restaurant well reviewed on TripAdvisor and as our friends had not yet been to Bosnia and were anxious to get a new country stamped into their passport, we set off for lunch. The restaurant was easy to find with our portable car GPS. When we pulled up, however, we were unsure where to park. Going inside to get advice, we met the owner who guided us to parking at his house one block away! Have never had that happen before! It was too chilly for us to sit outside but had a beautiful view of the river from our table at the front window.I love homemade soups and the chicken soup I had was excellent. Very rich chicken stock with shredded chicken, veggies and cheese. It arrived steaming hot (a necessity for soup). My husband's chicken kabobs were terrific. He ate every morsel along with the Lebanese bread. He added onion as well as tomatoes from his salad. Our companion had trout that required skin and bone removal (which he complained about). But not a scrap of fish was left on his plate. The daunting task of getting to the fish wasn't enough to deter him from a fantastic meal.A very satisfying adventure!TIP: When driving from the Plitvice area to Bosnia you will encounter a very, very long line of trucks waiting to clear customs at the Croatian-Bosnian birder. You do not get in that lane! Pull carefully around the trucks to the left (into the incoming lane of traffic which is mostly empty) and enter the automobile lane that is quite short.

We ate here 3 times over 3 days, we could not get enough. The food is tasty, and the prices are very fair given the quality of the meals and the views. The staff were very patient with my children, and although they were always busy, the meals came out quickly.
