Lomo fino - meat had amazing flavour but little well cooked for me (do not speak Spanish so suspect was my fault with order). Sauces unreal especially the pepper one. Also like the smoked herb (?) one, bit different. Tostones/twice fried plantain yummy carb goodness. Only complaint was mixto was for minimum of 3 people on menu, tried this at Parrilladas Italos in Oxapampa and was nice to get the selection to try

Parrilladas, carnes, pescados, todo a la parrilla.
One of the things I did not expect in Pucallpa was excellent cuisine. My wife and I ate there twice, trying a variety of dishes, and the food was very tasty and unusual. I had three different grilled meats--deer, sajino (which is like peccary) and majas, a small animal popular on Amazon menus. The portions were substantial and included salad with chonta, fetuccini-like strips of palm, and tacacho, mashed plantains which were moist enough and very good. As a drink we chose camu-camu, a pinkish juice made from a local fruit with the highest vitamin C content of any other source. We ate there again two days later, but unfortunately the restaurant was quite crowded with two large groups, so it took a little longer to get the food. This time I tried the grilled paiche, while my wife went for steak with patacones, somewhat like thick banana chips. Despite the quantity of people in the restaurant, the food was as excellent as the first time around. The steak was medium rare, as asked for, and the paiche cooked just right, with a minimum opf spices. Really, I can see why this restaurant is so popular, and I recommend it highly to anyone who visits Pucallpa.
Not only did D'oxa not have several of the plates as well as the drinks available that were listed on the menu (one of the people went through two meal options before something they could do something that he wanted), the food options that they did have were good. The food had a little bit different flavor than other traditional Peruvian restaurants which was nice. But the atmosphere was worth it. It provided a nice location just outside the city with outdoor veranda seating. Large tables with a stay awhile feel which was perfect for our party of 11.

After four attempts trying to eat here, we were finally able to! Their hours are a bit different and don't necessarily open right on time. We talked to the manager and were told the following hours Tuesday-Saturday 12:30-3:30 and 6:30-11:00, Sunday 12:30-4. Most of our party enjoyed the barbecue wings. I think it was because it is not something that you find in a typical Pucallpian restaurant. The barbecue sauce was sweet. The sides were good and so was the limonada. A nice surprise was bread before the meal which rarely happens in Peru much less Pucallpa.
