Visited for dinner last night & wow, what a find this place was. The 2 young ladies who welcomed us & served us were really friendly & helpful & we genuinely felt they cared about our dining experience. The Isaan food was really, really good, the Larb Moo & the Tom Kha Gai were some of the best we've ever had. They also serve an excellent Bloody Mary Cocktail. We will certainly be visiting again over the next few days.

Wrong-way cafe is run by a friendly Thai lady called Ting and her staff. They serve very good Thai food and also burgers and sandwiches. There is a pool table and you can play your music on YouTube. Ting is very helpful and also offers tours in and around Ubon. They open at 4 p.m., close at midnight. Ting and also the expats who show up are a great source for information on Ubon.

A very pleasant little bar with an informal ambience. NJoy, although tucked a bit away from central Ubon, is well known by the local expat community (and Thai spouses!) for it's food, both western and Thai- & more recently, Indian curry. For Sunday roast, it is "The" game in town- but do bring an appetite. Schnitzel, chicken burger, good steak, home made(!) spring rolls, and of course Thai- quite a varied menu, cooked by competent staff.NJoy has the atmosphere of a friendly locals bar, most everybody seems to know everybody- but new faces are always made welcome. It is also one of the few expat bars in town open during the day, from 11am onwards. Rattana is a convivial host, well travelled and with good English. A slice of expat life in 'out of the way' Ubon.
