Reviews on International food in Banos, Tungurahua Province, Ecuador. Normally, one wouldn’t equate "relaxing spa vacation" with "hanging out near an active volcano," but if you’re up for something more exotic than facials and massages, Banos might be the perfect place for you. The thermal mineral pools here are heated by the volcano, and while there are several, offering different amenities, the easiest one to visit is Las Piscinas de la Virgen. Banos also has plenty of outdoor activities, like rafting and biking on scenic paths.

Mestizart Ecuadorian Restaurant offers and incredible ambiance, gracious service and tasty ecuadorian food in the central park of Banos Ecuador. Ecuadorian cuisine is inspired by the culture and traditions of our people, where local art is combined with l
We picked this restaurant out because we really wanted to try cuy (guinea pig) while in Ecuador. The traditional preparation at this restaurant was with a peanut sauce, so I was nervous about dealing with a nut allergy here, but using an allergy card and "sin mani" had no issues at all. They brought out the cuy without the peanut sauce. We also were able to try a half order of cuy, which was less wasteful as I don't know if we'd have finished a whole one.Despite not loving the cuy, the other Ecuadorian foods we ordered were very good - locro de papa soup and yuca with guacamole. We were able to sit outside and overlook the park and some of the main streets of Banos de Agua Santa, which made our lunch even more enjoyable.

Sativa Studio Cafe is a pottery studio and vegan cafe located in the heart of Banos city. Its a space where you can relax, enjoy a healthy and beautiful meal on handmade ceramic plates, drink organic homemade fruit wines, organic Ecuadorian coffee, or jus
We wanted to love it....because it has vegan food, but we will probably not return... We had the veggie burger and the garden salad. Neither one will bring us back here..Sweet environment....well the physical space...We are not super picky eaters, but the salad was basically greens....with a few little other items and vinegar.

We had a quick stop for lunch in Baños and happened upon Pappardelle. Having eaten Ecuadorian cooking for days it was time for a little comfort food. This place looked good. And it was. Walking into the dining room was a pleasant surprise and we were quickly greeted and seated. Service was at an average pace but quite competent and friendly. My lasagna was an excellent example of the genre and my companion's soup was also good. The only problem was the two came out 10 minutes apart. Why can restaurants not learn how to plan their heating so multiple dishes can be served together?Nonetheless, will definitely stop here agin when passing through town.

Swiss Bistro Banos, your gastronomic meeting point at the entrance of the amazonian rain forest. Since 2008 we offer Swiss & European specialties in a unique and authentic atmosphere. This year we added a terrasse lounge to enjoy the same dishes in a peac
Another centrally located restaurant where you can enjoy group dining on the second floor. The dining area is surrounded by lots of plants and you canât even tell you are on top of a building. They have authentic park like decors, hammock and decorative plants. They also have a bar where they serve drinks and a lookout to the city. For our food, we had different choices; some ordered beef stroganoff, pasta, drinks, fresh juices and desserts. Considering the last time I was here, they did not handle a large group and our food as a group did not arrive on time, this time, they seemed more organized and we were able to eat together as the food arrived in a timely manner.

The Food is excellent! Very tasty and with good portioning. For Vegans and Vegetarians: We recommend the avocado in vinaigrette, the tabbouli and the pita with Humus for appetizers. For entrees: the falafel plate and the Nasim Gurang with Seitan. Very few places in Ecuador offer Vegan and Vegetarian options so, take advantage of the Seitan bc its definitely a treat!Fish and Chicken: They can accommodate the dishes to your liking. You can order protein without breading/apanadura and no salt on things like sautéed potatoes if youâre trying to eat healthier. Try the Lemon Trout, Mediterranean trout or the Lemon Chicken. All delicious!STAY AWAY FROM:Nachos supremos and the Mexican Burrito SERVICE:For the most part it was good. We experienced 3 different waiters and waitresses. We would like to shout out NAIM and SILVIA for their amazing service and nice smiles. THANK YOU SO MUCH you guys are the MVPs Not so much our second waiter who had dark hair and thick build (he looked like a local but canât be sure.) we also donât remember his name, but we sure remember his TERRIBLE service. So bad that during our second evening, we saw he was the only waiter there and decided to go check out CAFE HOOD instead, just to avoid him as a server again.Casa Hood was the very first restaurant we tried while we stayed in Baños. We ended up there by accident. Later on we found out it had amazing reviews on google and it did not disappoint. The ambiance of the restaurant was very âhippieâ, Art oriented and dog friendly (all of which we loved immensely â¤ï¸)They also have lots of information on dog adoptions and wild animal life rescue programs. Check out the hallway to the bathrooms for more In the evenings, they light up candles on your tables and play relaxing jazz. What more could you ask for? Love, love, love.Last but not least, to Lucy: The cute little poodle with the funky purple hairdo and the ribbons. Always hanging out in the restaurant being friendly with the customers. Thank you for an amazing experience

Café Good Books & Food after 20 years, now is âGOOD CAFà RESTAURANTEâ, a place highly recommended in many important guides like Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Reise Know-How, Petit Futé, offers different types of breakfast with fresh organic coffee as well
It is a very nice and cozy café. The food was all very nice except the veggie burger which was probably the worst ever. Our waiter was nice and it was a very clean restaurant. The pricing was very reasonable too. Reviewed by Tristan / 12 years old

We had a wonderful meal at Alto Caribe. The prices looked on the expensive side for Ecuador, but then we discovered the starter was included! Fabulous soup, and superb main course of pasta with fish, and potatoes with chicken -- subtle flavours and well presented. A very good beer too -- a genuine IPA, the best IPA I had in Ecuador. Friendly, speedy service and pleasant atmosphere too.
