We would 100% recommended this lovely hotel. It is well placed, a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Banos, with views of the mountains. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean (as was the whole hotel), had a good shower, a nice seating area outside our room. Breakfast was good and plentiful, with eggs, fruit, croissants, fresh juice and coffee, served in a nice breakfast room. Elena, the young lady who looked after us, was absolutely lovely, friendly, professional and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She is a great asset to the hotel. Parking was safe and secure, inside the gated property. Free drinking water in reception.area. The hotel exceeded our expectations and was exceptionally good value for money.

Beautiful place to relax and watch the landscape of the city of Baños de Agua Santa and the surrounding mountains.
Upon recommendation of a friend, I spent 6 nights at Hostal Llanovientos and was very happy with them for my first visit to Baños. Just so you know who is giving their opinion: I’m a single, mid-50’s female, originally from US, but have now lived in Ecuador for 6 years. I don’t have a lot of “discretionary income,” so the most important thing to me when I travel is comfort on a budget. I contacted the hostal directly to book and was offered an excellent nightly rate. This afforded me the opportunity to splurge on an extra spa day. And since I only spent my nights in the room, it was well worth it to me. PROS: all the important things were here for me. Room was VERY clean; full sized bed was very comfortable and I had 4 pillows of various firmness; shower water was HOT and best pressure I’ve found in any hostal (even better than my own home!); WiFi was strong and good speed; staff was always available, friendly and helpful. CONS: the finish out of the construction/facilities is rough (which is common in Ecuador, where they go for function more than aesthetics); furnishings of room were old and a bit worn; lots of noise in this neighborhood - you will hear dogs, car horns/alarms, chickens, games at a local sports facility, etc. You can also easily hear other guests outside and inside their rooms (including water running, voices, etc.). I found guests were conscious of this and respectful. But you will hear anything above a whisper. I’m willing to wave a few minor discomforts/aesthetics to save some cash. The noise didn’t bother me because it’s everywhere. I wouldn’t ever travel without earplugs and once they are in, the outside world disappears. So those things didn’t bother me, but they would some travelers, so I do mention them. Lastly, as others have said, they are at the top of a steep hill. I considered that good exercise, but you have a few options. One is, to walk up part way a few blocks over (which seems less steep), cut over sideways (which is more level and allows you to recover) and then walk the last short bit up one street over (on the other side of their wall), cut across and back down a few steps. I found this to be less severe than straight up the hill. Also, if you are really tired, a $1.25 cab ride from anywhere in town gets you there. Overall I was very pleased here. Although I might try another option if I come back to Baños for a shorter stay, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Llanovientos again some time.

Well-known for its quaint environment and proximity to great restaurants, Jardines de Chamana makes it easy to enjoy the best of Banos. In addition, while staying at Jardines de Chamana guests have access to room service, and you can stay connected with free wifi. You can also enjoy free breakfast while staying at Jardines de Chamana. Need a place to park? Free parking is available at Jardines de Chamana. During your visit, be sure to check out a popular Banos tempura restaurant such as Cafe Hood, which is a short distance from Jardines de Chamana. There is no shortage of things to do in the area: explore popular history museums such as Museo Fray Enrique Mideros. Jardines de Chamana is sure to make your visit to Banos one worth remembering.
We actually cut short our stay at another hotel which was rated higher on Tripadvisor and moved to Chamana. It was infinitely better than the first place we staid at, great service and a fun place to stay. Game room was in excellent shape and included breakfast was delicious. One day I had a 7am meeting and although breakfast started at 8am, they brought me coffee at 7am to help get me though that meeting. Really exceeded my expectations.

Looking for the perfect Banos Bed and Breakfast? La Casa de Pia is a magnificent 400 square meter home where you will find the gracious atmosphere with the comforts and amenities today's travelers need, all ideally situated. We are located on a quiet tree-lined, residential street, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and Banos corridor night life is a short walk away.
So we booked here online for 35$ USD a night for 3 nights. Paid a 17$ deposit. After an hour of trying to find the place we finally did (there's no signs or nothing) and I honestly don't know how people reviewed this as excellent or if they were fake reviews. Anyways we went there it was pouring rain and the gate was locked and it looked like the place was abandoned, but then 2 more people showed up with reservations in the same boat we were. So all 4 of us waited outside in the rain for upwards of 4 hours and not a single person came or left and we banged on the gate (yes we were at the right address as well) so we cut our losses and found another hostel. The other two people decided to stay and wait, we met up with them later and they said they waited 6 hours and a lady came out and said this is not a hotel and then said its full and so they asked for there deposit back and she said no I have no money so I can't give you a deposit I assure you this hotel was not full so we lost our deposit as well as the other people. Whatever you do don't stay here We stayed over at the Santa Cruz hostel which isn't even a hostel but a hotel and had a private room and private bathroom room with a balcony for half the price Don't lose money like we did

Community Hostel has arrived in Banos and brought our great vibe to the city! Fun activities and plenty of opportunities to meet other travelers, we have an inclusive environment, with the best breakfast in the city and plush mattresses and pillows for you to get a good night sleep!
Not in the city center but only a short walk from it so it was not a problem. Great breakfast, rooms and an amazing staff really making the evenings lively. Neat common area where you easily get in contact with other travelers. They should really put up some sound insulation cause you can hear every small noise from the common area in your room, and the temperature-control in the showers are a mess, but apart from that, just an awesome hostel.

Originally an upper-class home built in the early 1800's. Seven meticulously restored rooms, most opening to the interior patio from the second floor. From the manager to the maids, the staff treated us like royalty (which we are not). Lonely Planet rates dinner in the restaurant as one of the top ten things to do in Ambato . . . we could not agree more. An excellent menu, well-prepared and served to perfection. Old world charm in a comfortable setting. The manager gave us excellent advice on travel arrangements to Quito.

Aldea Real Eco Resort is the perfect place to spend the vacation of your dreams. Located on the shore of Pastaza river, and surrounded by majestic mountains and herbage, make this Hotel, a magical place in Banos, in which, each day you will live different moments and sensations. Waking up to a glowing sunrise from the comfort of your bed, enjoy many hours in the hammock of your balcony.
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at this lovely small hotel in Banos. The view of the mountains and the river is wonderful. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and tried to assist as much as possible despite the lack of English. The rooms are more than adequate, very spacious and well equipped but could use a bit of upgrading. The hotel is located out of the centre of Banos but taxis are very available and inexpensive, $2.00 or less to take to the centre. Breakfast was very good. There is a wonderful spa just up the street from the hotel.

Hospedaje Higueron is truly your home away from home in Banos de Agua Santa, Tungurahua. With only 4 cabins, each of guests is offered not only first class accommodations, but the warmth of our family and home. Our house is located in a peaceful residential area, yet just a 5 minute walk to downtown Banos, and the thermal baths. This is an ideal place for families, or anyone who would like to relax in our loving tended garden or welcoming great room. Rosita offers home made meals, not only delicious, but healthy with ingredients from our own garden. Willy is an expert on any outdoor activities, and loves to share that inside knowledge with our guests. Your lodging is a spacious ensuite room with open beams and views to the peaceful garden. Your choice is always privacy and comfort combined with a cheerful welcoming atmosphere of our common areas, come play the piano with us or swap travel stories!
Willy and Rosita really go the extra mile in giving their small place a homely feel and the jam, the soap and the herbal teas are all home made. We loved the breakfast and took advantage of their advice on what to do around Banos. The room was very nice too and felt quite private. As usual no heating but we didn’t find that an issue in Banos. The location was good because town centre felt busy and we were far enough away to be quiet but easy walking distance. Thank you for a great stay

My husband and I stayed at La Casta, which is about 500m out of town ($1.25 by taxi from bus terminal or $1 from the centre of Patate) for three nights in an upstairs room with nice views of the fields up the mountain. The family looked after us superbly. The breakfasts were lavish, and we particularly liked the different piece of cake every morning, which was packed up for us to take along because we just couldn't fit it in. The dining room opens to an englassed breakfast room on one side, from which we could watch the farmers work and their children play. The dinners we had in the onsite restaurant were excellent and competitively priced, as was the laundry service. The wifi worked well, and there is a sizable heated swimming pool complex on the property, which guests staying over night can use for free. When we needed transport to the Cascada de Mundug, the son was asked to drive us up. We enjoyed our stay at La Casta thoroughly and recommend it wholeheartedly.
