The fjords and mountain ranges of Tromso are simply magical. Here, the northern lights sparkle across the same navy blue sky that's illuminated by the midnight sun. You'll be spellbound by Tromso's enchanting fishing villages, fragrant botanical gardens and crystalline waterfalls. Music is a major part of the Tromso culture, particularly techno and electronic music, which adds some thumping thunder to the city once a year during the annual Insomnia Festival.

Lunch and dinner café/restaurant. Table service. Smaller dishes, tapas and full menu. Kitchen: International gourmet with northern raw materials.
This is probably one of Tromso's most acclaimed eateries with a very pleasant and traditional atmosphere (a homely feel), traditional Nordic food (including the famous whale steak) and excellent service. Not to be missed if in Tromso, despite the plethora of good restaurants and eateries in the center of the city or by the waterfront.

In Presis its always summer. Delicious food, cool and relaxed staff and cosy environment. Fun and unpretentious.
I didn't realise how hard it would be to find somewhere to eat in Tromso on a Friday night in December - a lot of Christmas meals. After a bit of a walk around I found Presis, lovely cozy place, and could squeeze in a solo traveller. Wonderful tapas with local ingredients, brief wine list with excellent choices and friendly staff. There is a desert menu so leave room, very good rice pudding.

This is a seafood restaurant with a deserved good reputation. However, Reservations are absolutely necessary. The best tables with a view on the harbour are hard to get. The food is very good and service is attentive. It is one of the best restaurants in town and usually fully booked.

Upon the recommendation of a hotel staff member, a group of us went to Ra Sushi for dinner. Absolutely a fantastic choice! The restaurant has a cozy relaxing atmosphere, the service was fantastic and the sushi was incredibly delicious. I tried The White Dragon since we don’t have that menu item at home (made with cod) and I wish I had ordered two. Friends ordered the chicken teriyaki, maki rolls and sashimi platter. This establishment comes highly recommended from a huge sushi lover!

We had a wonderful experience dining at Smak. Not only that the food was amazingly delicious, the staffs were also fantastic and generously accommodated our dietary requirement. This gastronomic experience simply cannot be missed as Smak offers honest local produce with genius cooking and heartwarming services.

Corner cafe overlooking a busy area. Made for delightful people watching. Individual stools set up along the window front to maximize Seating, though it can get a little difficult to maneuver during busy times. Non-fat latte was delicious with a charming heart shape in the foam. Pastry yummy. Price reasonable for location. Several power outlets throughout the cafe for charging devices.
Service clearing abandoned dishes was fast.

Traditional beer cellar in Tromso city centre connected to Mack Brewery. Open Monday-Friday 9am-6pm (Saturday 9am-3pm)
Lovely. We had some lovely beers and the staff were very helpful. The shop next door is also a pleasure.
Unfortunately we couldn’t attend the brewery tour, but we’d have done so if possible!
Lots of fun and highly recommended if you like beer, ale, lager or any derivative thereof!

Good selection of Norwegian beers, and friendly staff. Worth popping in for a drink. Nice decor, and given good recommendations for other places in town.

Staff very friendly and great coffee. It was a little busy and noisy so we shared a table with another couple and chatted with them about their travels. It feels like a place where everyone catches up for whether it be breakfast, lunch or a coffee break. We only had the coffee and cake as we were on our way back to a Hurtigruten cruise ship and they made dreadful coffee so it is always something in every port visit somewhere for coffee and this certainly hit the spot especially the little motives in the froth of our coffee.

The pub is wonderfully decorated in a vintage style, finding an old suitcase as a table and an ancient radio hanging from the roof as a lamp.
The food is really tasty. The jacked potatoes are generous and burguers are awesome.
Prices are Norway average. All in all, good food in a cosy place.
