Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, has the tall buildings, neon lights and crowded streets of many cities, but also a multicultural Caribbean character and a homegrown calypso soundtrack. The best-known occasion is the flamboyant pre-Lenten Carnival. Among the city's other offerings are cricket and football matches, year-round festivals, a botanic garden, malls, an art and history museum and historic buildings. Entertainment options abound, but be cautious after dark.

I don't agree with the negative reviews. This may not necessarily be THE best doubles stand in Trinidad, but it certainly is right up there. We were in PoS for 6 days, had doubles from many different stands. George is really yummy (fwiw, I grew up in India, so I have had chana curry all my life). We had it for breakfast every morning. Fast, cheap, and delicious.
Dot so me skin and roti, and doubles to keep for the long plane ride home, it was good I missed the food and was happy to take some back with me . It was good and my family enjoyed it as well. The staff was nice no much more friendly. Nut good food.

We stumbled onto this place while walking the town. Saw tons of locals coming out with carry-out bags. We split a mini chicken roti...weighted about 3 pounds! So good! Fresh--chutney, pumpkin, chicken, spices, mango....you have to go here.

So pleasantly surprised with the delicious ,mouth watering vegetarian and carnivorous options here. Loved the tandoori chicken with saffron coloured rice biryani and pickled salad /vegetables Great prices Limited parking Decent decor Pleasant staff The desserts looked enticing but I was so stuffed I just couldnât take a bite further. Will have to return to sample further

Known to locals as the best roti in Port of Spain. Listed in Lonely Planet Guide. I can't believe you haven't listed this place.
If you are in the Woodbrook, Port of Spain area this is the place For one of Trinidad and Tobago's indigineous food offerings to the world. Curried meats and fillings -potatoes, chick peas, mango, spinach, all very spicy flavoured, all wrapped in a flat bread ,or served conventionally on a plate A meal on its own.

My family and I went for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoyed the meal, the ambience and the service. The food, including the complimentary soup was tasty. We would definitely be returning at another time.

I stood in the queue behind quite a few other customers for about 15 minutes and other customer who came after me decided to form their own queue. Meanwhile, the cashier served the person served the person in front of me and then served the other queue. There are other places to order food in the same compound and While I was waiting in line, my wife ordered food elsewhere and returned. I was not prepared to wait behind a second lime when I arrived before all these other people. If they have a system of following a queue, they should either be a cashier per queue or enforce a one queue only rule. I would not be returning to this place because Indian food is available anywhere else in Trinidad. Hi,Waiting in line to have others who come after you, served before you is unacceptable, I agree. But before I fully address this, are you sure this is at Svaada, One Woodbrook Place (next door to Chaud Cafe)? i only ask because I've never seen this happen before and we don't really have space for a 2nd line. Can you say when was this?

1. Staff - not welcoming, avoiding customers2. Ordered vegetarian meal (for religious purposes) but non veg meal was served3. When we found the dish doubtful the waiters still tried to convince us that it was tofu4. When confronted, they made an excuse about the shortage of staff which is extremely unacceptable for a prestigious restaurant.
