Find out what Caribbean restaurants to try in Chaguanas. The Borough of Chaguanas is the largest borough (83,516 at the 2011 census) and fastest-growing town in Trinidad and Tobago. Located in west-central Trinidad, south of Port of Spain, north of Couva and San Fernando, named after the indigenous tribe who originally settled there, it grew in size due to its proximity to the Woodford Lodge sugar refinery. It remained a minor town until the 1980s when it began to grow rapidly as it drew people for its bargain shopping and moderately-priced housing. However, its rapid growth has seen property values increase dramatically.

I asked around and several different individuals told me I had to go to Hosein's I tried both their Tunapuna and Arima locations. The quality was OK - not exceptional. They packed a lot of stuff in their rotis and you wouldn't be hungry after dining. It is not an ideal place for sit-down service - more suited to carry-out. There are several servers available to package your order, so the wait was not long. I am not a connoisseur of rotis, but I left feeling that there has to be a better roti somewhere. The price was reasonable and there was a wide range of options for fillings.

This was an excellent dining experience. As I am writing this review we are sitting outside at this restaurant just finishing breakfast overlooking the harbor, the water with a wonderful breeze cascading through the patio we are on. We had dinner one night and a breakfast another morning. The vibe and energy of the property is very positive. At the Hyattt, the food is excellent, well prepared, with island diversity options, and the service has been both for dinner and breakfast outstanding. The wait staff makes you feel really valued. For dinner, I had salmon which had island spices/unique pepper was really was outstanding. My wife had a local fish that just melted in her mouth. Our guest, who is from Trinidad, raved about how her meal, steak, was prepared. We all had a side of coconut spinach which was very good too. It was our guests first time at this restaurant. She will be back. Breakfast options outside of the buffet were somewhat limited, I had Eggs Benedict that was very tasty. I did look at the buffet and what was offered ... it looked like one of the best I have seen as far as choices. The chef will customize anything you wanted which I love when I go to a restaurant. I would highly recommend this place if you want a really wonderful dining experience in Port-of-Spain.

Today we decided to try out an A La Carte lunch after a very disappointing dinner last night. A chance to redeem our view of terribly poor service, slow seating, slow order taking, slow arrival of food, and a mediocre meal. Hm.. unfortunately, today was not any better. My hot meal took so long to come to the table, and we were two of only six people in the restaurant, so there was no excuse that they were busy, but the steamed vegetables and the grilled chicken were all ALMOST luke-warm. ALMOST. We were halfway through our meals when the waitress popped up to ask if our meal was fabulous. Really? This place needs a good management shakeup! While the staff were all friendly, the overall impression is of a very loose system. Staff chatting to one another with no eye contact with guests. Thereâs no evidence anywhere of Management checking on staff, or customer satisfaction. Retraining is really needed here as individual friendliness of waiting staff, or a reduction of 10% off my meal, doesnât make up for yet another disappointing dining experience. Weâre here for two weeks, so letâs hope that someone somewhere listens and acts up guests observations! Hilton Hotel, you can, and should, do better than this.

I always make it a point to find time to stop at Wings and have a great local meal. While the restaurant is a little out-of-the-way, you can expect a consistent level of quality here that makes the effort worth the trouble, They have added parking in the back which is really helpful and do avoid the peak meal times. You will not be disappointed. I can highly recommend Wings.
The Rise holds it own in a neighborhood crowded with more prestigious or better equipped / furnished competitors. It achieves this by providing the atmosphere and ambiance well appreciated by its custobers. The food is not five-star but it is still tasty and you get fair portions...
