An enormously impressive small restaurant , providing great value for money. Four of us all ate different fish on our first visit, accompanied by the delicious house white. We were so impressed we returned two nights later, and enjoyed an equally good meal again( mostly fish, but one of us had beef), Accompanied by that 18 euro house white wine again. The service was impeccable: helpful, friendly, discrete. Not the easiest place to find. But well worth persevering to do so. Top marks

Right in the heart of the city, this little corner offers you a truly touch of Tuscany. With its traditional salami and cheese you might sip a glass of the best wines of the region like Chianti, Montepulciano, Montalcino, San Gimignano etc.
We made a reservation tonight at LâEtrusco on the recommendation of a former server from the restaurant. We were glad we did. Lorenzo was a super server who spoke much better English than our Italian. We opted for filets after weeks of pizza and pasta. The steaks were cooked to order at medium rare with roasted potatoes,2 braised onions and a side of salad. While not USDA PRIME - our steak was nonetheless very good. Itâs a bit silly, but we are still wondering why the exact same dish on the menu where the steak is NOT bacon wrapped actually costs more? Same meal, no bacon, $1 Euro more? Ahh - lifeâs little mysteries . The other curiosity was the fact the salad was totally dry - not dressed at all. True, we had olive oil on the table (and used it), but no vinegar and dressing the salad next to the steak seems odd at best? The onions were the star of the show - glazed and perfectly grilled. Plus, we appreciated the glass of prosseco provided shortly after being seated. Their pasta fagiole was simple yet flavorful and the aged pecorino sampler plate did not disappoint. The friendly service and quaint authentic local atmosphere ultimately made the night for us. We appreciated LâEtrusco and hope you do as well.

Very welcoming, which is not always the case for somebody dining alone Suggestions for an aperitif very welcome and my Aoerol spritz was brought immediatelyNo menu as such but very charming young waiter, with excellent English, told me what there was on the nights menu. This is always a good sign for me, that the chef has chosen dishes based on seasonal and most likely, local produceMy starter was gnocchi with baby scallops. It was absolutely delicious. Soft as butter, clearly homemade gnocchi and the tiny scallops, cooked with lots of garlic and butter, sublime.I wasnât sure when I entered the rest aurant if I wanted a main course as well but after the success of the starter I went for a main. Iâm very glad I did as the next course was almost as good as the first. Three fat scallops a gratin with a side saladI had accompanying local wines, which Iâd chosen with the help of a very helpful waiter, whose mother and father own the restaurant. Indeed, the wonderful chef is his motherFull marks

This place is truly a gem! With a rugby-inspired memorabilia the place has a very unique character and ambiance. Lots of great wines and good food offered. Staff was very kind. Tom was our server and he was simply the best! By the way, he has also proven to be a very talented guitar player. Will go back soon at first opportunity.

Antico Buffet Benedetto is a very nice downtown restaurant that is clearly favored by the locals. We dined on a Monday evening along with many other quiet patrons. The interior was warm with pleasant music playing in the background. Our server was friendly, the table settings were handsome and the vegetables were all very fresh. We ordered a number of dishes including Three Fish Antipasto, Ham Plate Antipasto, Grilled Tuna, and Boiled Meats and Potatoes (photos attached). The Grilled Tuna was very good and the Boiled Meats were exceptionally good. We have eaten at many restaurants in Trieste during our numerous visits and we would definitely eat here again. Busy place, smiling faces, good espresso, a wide choice of pastry and sandwiches. Nice place to stop for a break at all times of the day. And the people are friendly, kind and efficient. What else? Ah, the bill does not come as a surprise, fair and fine.
