Located in the heart of the old town of Trier the Romantik Hotel “zur Glocke” invites you to spend the night in a unique historical ambience. “The Glocke” is an institution in Trier. Beside a hotel it is the oldest pub in town and has been in the gastronomical business since 1803. However, the history of the building at Glockenstraße 12 can be traced back much longer. The listed front house was built in 1567 on walls dating from the 12th century. The historical cellar vault dates back to the fortification of the Cathedral in the 11th century. From 2012 to 2016, the Glocke was laboriously renovated. In addition, the hotel business, which was discontinued in the 1990s, was resumed. The guests can now expect lovingly and individually decorated rooms over four floor levels. Besides spacious double rooms, the owner-managed hotel offers suites and junior suites. Some of the rooms have a beautiful view of the Cathedral of Trier.
Excellent location, beautifully appointed, spacious rooms with superb bathrooms. The staff is very kind and helpful, the location optimal for sightseeing, the restaurant very cozy and good. Great value for the money and altogether a wonderful experience.

This is a nice place near the historic center of Trier, and a 10-minute walk from the train station. Very clean and modern, with a focus on modern. Keyless rooms using codes and al electronic check in. Breakfast is very good, with a nice breakfast lady. Not really geared to English speakers, but we all found a way to communicate. So quiet at night, which was nice after a lot of noisy hotels elsewhere. We'd gladly stay here again.

It was very hard to find the hotel even with a German GPS. We had called the hotel to tell them we would be there just before 10pm and the guy we talked to said he would still be there - but he wasn't. We did figure out how to get in but the parking wasn't close by so we had to park in the city parking garage a few blocks away. The room was OK but we didn't have time to explore the city. Should have stayed in the outskirts and not in the heart of the city.

Clean and quiet, with excellent breakfast and pleasant staff. Bare in mind that it's not "10 minutes from town center", it's more like 20. Especially if you take the bus. That's why I didn't give it a clean 5 stars.

Sehr billige Eintichtung. Bettwaren aus Syntetischen Material. Keine gutes Licht zum Lesen am Abend. Sehr einfaches Morgenessen.

Went there for coffee and cake on a Tuesday afternoon. The location is excellent: right next to the Moselle River and with a view to Wasserbillig in Luxembourg. Very quiet and great spot to watch the little ferry between Luxembourg and Germany as well as the activities on the river. Plenty of free parking on the street. Good coffee and homemade cakes. Very friendly service. The restaurant look nice too, but we didn’t try it. We will be back for sure. Thank you!
