The Fish Dock Bar & Grill, formerly known as Pelican Point, is a local staple, located on the Sapelo River. Here at The Fish Dock, we offer the freshest and best quality seafood. We are constantly upgrading our menu to provide only the best Sea to Table & local selections With fresh caught fish, Georgia Shrimp, daily harvested littleneck clams from Sapelo Sea Farms, and local oysters, your biggest challenge will be to decide which to try first.
We have begun our trip through the menu and have enjoyed everything. This “SEA TO TABLE” addition to our community is a breath of fresh air and delicious food. They will soon add a shellfish education center which will educate visitors and students. Captain Phillips...MoreKim, we can not thank you enough for the beautiful & kind words. We are so happy to be making a positive impact on our guests and community. We can not wait to show you all of the great things coming at the Fish Dock!

Popped by on a drive from Savannah to Daytona, and we can't wait to go back! Quaint wine, cheese, and gourmet food shop in the front. In the back, an awesome, cozy, wine-tasting room. I could spend an entire day there! And what a view! From the wine-tasting room, we looked out over the sound, and we watched a storm roll in. (See unretouched photo.) We tasted several of their own wines, in addition to wine slushies. (YUM!) The manager was knowledgeable, entertaining, and generous with his selection of pours. He answered our many questions, and he helped us select purchases before leaving.
We are now planning a vacation to Darien, based solely on our experience at Waterfront Wine & Gourmet!

This Subway is convenient for I-95 travelers, being situated in a Chevron station/convenience store near I-95 Exit 67 (US 17/Coastal Highway). The food is standard Subway fare, of course. The place is very small, even for a Subway. If memory serves, the seating consists of one small table and four tiny ones. The takeout trade undoubtedly predominates here.
A notable feature of our stop here was the very good service. Itonia, the young lady behind the counter, was very cheerful and patient when she prepared our 12-inch sub, which was to be split between the two of us (cheaper than ordering two 6-inch subs) and called for different vegetables and condiments on the two halves.

After supper at the wee pub, we walked over to the Dairy Queen for dessert. The ace was crowded, but not in a bad way because who doesn't like ice cream! Right? No chocolate soft serve here, but they still get a 4 for being awesome!!!

Told by family and friends... if your ever in the area...
Wow ordered seafood platter and extra baked potato. One portion feed two and lunch for takehome. Platter contained shrimp, oysters, crab cake, flounder with a potato. Literally the best weve ever had. Breading crisp and flavorful but most importantly, let the seafood flavor be the star. you have to make yourself stop eating before you hurt yourself.
if we can squeeze any time outta this trip... Id like to get back there again.
service was great, very helpful. Kept the the coffee and water full. Southern hospitality at its best.
Quality said too much already. Food great. Water tasted of well water.
Tip from local, Friday night can be a long wait. we went on a Monday, 6pm, no problems at all. Did i mention I wanna go back?

Have you ever accidently stumbled across a little hole-in-the-wall/dump/dive that's located at a wide spot in a road leading nowhere?
You know, the one that has some of the best food and best service you'd ever expect from them?
Well, WE did - and it was absolutely amazing.
FRESH seafood is their specialty, but even "turf" food like a Philly Cheese steak is as good as you'll find ANYWHERE.
NO ONE will "ever" describe anything about Altman's as "fancy", but you'll leave ther licking your lips and shaking your head.
From strictly a food standpoint, I'd have to classify this as one of the Top 5 restaurants I've ever eaten in.

We passed through here last year and had a great meal, so much so that we planned it this trip.
There is restaurant and a bar in separate buildings. As you approach, the bar is on the right. I think that the menu is the same. We choose the bar because it has an outdoor deck overlooking the river (riparian entertainment worthy of Mrs. Bucket)
Raw oysters (you can get them cooked also) to start and then broiled shrimp were our choices this time. Oysters were fresh and large-ish and bargain priced. Shrimp were medium sized and plentiful. Folks near us were unable to finish theirs.
Wine list is nice and inexpensive as appropriate.
One warning however: Both years, people who sat next to us outside were friendly, interesting and engaging. We stayed at least an extra hour both times as we were enjoying the conversations so much. Something about sitting out there seemed to bring it out in them.
You'll see the billboards coming both north and south on I-95 but make sure you put the address in your GPS as it is not the easiest place to find.

What can I say, where else can you get seafood in a mobile home, pay in the kitchen, bring your own booze, and get a stellar country seafood meal. Flounder is on point as is the crab au gratin. Just don't get in a hurry they are on "Bluff Time" if you are looking for a fast meal your feelings will be hurt. We ordered 4 dishes and put them in the middle of the table and shared, it was great!
