Santiago is one of those metropolitan joys where the more you look, the more you find. Funky cafes and dance clubs dot Bellavista, Forest Park art collections range from pre-Columbian to contemporary, and architecture runs the gamut from the 16th-century San Francisco Church to mirrored office towers. Shop with the locals at Mall Panora¡mico and give your palate meals to remember with hearty Chilean fare.

Enjoy the excellent wines and delightful atmosphere of one of Chile’s most prestigious traditional wineries. An engaging guided tour of our facilities, including the park, colonial manor house, old winery, and the large cellar built using the “cal y canto”—limestone and eggshell—technique in the 1880s. During the tour you will taste 3 wines, the experience ends in our new shop.
Having lived 2 hours from Napa for many years, we've been to a lot of wineries. This tour has a completely different focus: it's not a tour of production facilities as much as the best class I've ever had in how to really taste, select and enjoy wine. We took the premium tour that includes higher-end wines, with the time to sit down afterwards, enjoy two wines with paired appetizers, and ask questions of our expert guide. You WILL see the beautiful cellar which has withstood major earthquakes. A couple of hours beyond expectations.

La Montana · natural vineyard, brewery and local tourism · 60 km from Santiago La Montana invites visitors to spend a day in this cool corner at the piedemont of Maipo, to feel the humidity of the wildlife, hike into the forest and fly on canopy over its thick native layer. There will be a barbecue lunch on the side of a river, accompanied with wine of four varieties that grow between boldo and peumo trees, created exclusively for the visitor and elaborated with a co fermentation method used in the ancient Mediterranean regions. Later you will take shelter in a rock near the fire to drink tea or tour its olive, lavender and almond trees. The experimental plant of the brewery can be visited, to learn from the process and the onsite extraction of essential oils of lavender, eucalyptus and native species.

Founded in 1856, Cousino Macul is the only winery in Chile amongst those established in the 19th century that continues in the hands of the original founding family. The company remains 100% under family control, producing limited quantities of fine wines. The mission of Cousino Macul is to produce world-class wines that are unmistakably Chilean, carrying the distinctive character of the Maipo Valley.
We took the premium tour with an absolutely fantastic tour guide Amaro who combined history and humor in a totally enjoyable tour with tastings along the route. Then Amaro provided us with a delightful tasting of six wines each with a wine pairing that was scrumptious. Gracias Amaro, you made our day

A boutique winery at the foot of Andes Mountain. Vina Aquitania is located approximately 35 minutes from Santiago's downtown, in the High Maipo Valley. This winery is oriented to produce wines of high quality in limited amounts. During the guided tours this small winery gives the opportunity to learn closely about the complete process of wine production, where the technology with artisan processes are mixed, like the labeling process that is handmade.
I'm in total agreement with the previous reviews that rave about this lovely, small winery. Viña Aquitania is located east of downtown up next to the mountains. Barbara, the hostess/guide provided a comprehensive and entertaining tour of their facilities. Her English is superb and her enthusiasm for the winery was contagious. While we opted for the non-premier wine tasting, we were not disappointed. We will be looking for the Aquitania label when we return to the US. As noted, this is a small boutique winery. There are hundreds of wineries here in Chile so it is not altogether surprising that our hotel was not familiar with this one (although they are now!). Tours can be booked on line at the Viña Aquitania website. You won't be disappointed.
