Darlington Vineyard

A lovely little Vineyard and a big welcome. The wines were a delight and we left with enough wine for the rest of our visit to Tassie - delicious!

Craigie Knowe Vineyard

Relax in the beautiful surroundings and enjoy a wine with cheese board, gourmet vineyard plate or chocolate and wine experience. Craigie Knowe is the perfect place for a warm, welcoming experience where you will taste our lovely wines in the original old winery and be comfortable to ask any questions. Vineyard tours also available - please see website for details. Craigie Knowe is the oldest vineyard on the east coast of Tasmania and produces beautiful cool climate wines; Cabernet Sauvignon, a bold Pinot Noir and Riesling, and from our other younger vineyard, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. When things allow, come in and let us look after you.

If you haven't heard of Craigieknowe it's probably because it's a little bit off the main road. But that's no reason to pass it by. In fact if you do you have missed out on a great experience. Glenn the owner is full of information and enthusiasm about his vineyard and wines which makes the vidit all the more enjoyable. We were a group of 12 and he catered for us really well (11 bottles of white and 2 reds!) while serving a constant stream of customers. We coupled the wine with their gourmet platters which featured cheese, meats and smoked salmon and various pastes and jams all local produce. Don't miss this East Coast secret (if in fact it is a secret).

The wine cellar may be more than 100 years old but the wines are definitely modern. We love pinot but it is hard to find a good one at a reasonable price . The pinots here are pricey but well worth the cost. There are several wine tasting options at different prices but the money is refunded if you buy. As well as the excellent pinots I really liked the riesling. I am a riesling fan from way back. A pleasant and knowledgable host made the experience very enjoyable.

Spring Vale Wines

We had a fantastic lunch at Mel’s Kitchen, at Springvale. The scallops, squid, pork ribs and hazelnut gateau were all outstanding. A nice 2018 Springvale Sauvignon Blanc to go with it, and a bottle of summer cup gin to take home. Highly recommended, but book as it is very busy.

Devil's Corner Cellar Door

Always like stopping here. After getting a very good coffee (best I had in Tassie), next it was time for some excellent oysters and mussels from "The Fishers" (from Freycinet Marine Farm) with a glass of wine from the Devil's Corner people. After this it was time for some delectable wood fired pizzas, again from the cafe. Unfortunately there wasn't any room left for ice cream! The wine tasting is very good too.

Freycinet Vineyards

Reviewed By BakerEmily - Melbourne, Australia

This stunning little vineyard offers a lot. Our host really made out wine tasting experience fun and interactive, instead of just spouting off a whole spiel about each wine he asked us our impressions and preferences while giving us blind tastings and only then did he describe the wines. This was great, we learnt so much more about the wine and our own tastes. They have a great variety and you're sure to find something you like.

What a relaxed Sunday lunch - enjoyed overlooking the lake and vineyard. Chef Zac produced a magnificent range of local dishes for our group. Our favourites were the duck and pine nut rotolo, gnocchi with cygnet mushrooms to die for, tuna carpaccio, to mention a few. Alex gave us geniuinely friendly faultless service. Oh, the quince and apple turnover dessert was fantastic...even had seconds. 2013 Milton Reisling was our favourite drop Kerry, the vineyard owner is also a gem.
