We are a small family vineyard, winery and cellar door. We also provide guest accommodation on site in our two self contained guest cottages. Open from 11am - 5pm Wednesday - Sunday between September and April, outside of these hours by appointment.
Near new cottage which sleeps up to five (2 bedrooms with queen bed each, camp bed in lounge).Beautiful views all around, short drive to town. The family Border Collier Maddy greeted us as our car drove in. The cottage is very well equipped, with dishwasher, induction cooktop, laundry and cloth drying rack. The fridge has bread, milk, yoghurt for our breakfast. They provide packets of cereal, jam, peanut butter, honey, Marmite. I have travelled around the world but i must say i am very impressed with Weavers estate wine's cottage. I hope the owners will get as lot of bookings and build more cottages.

Grey Ridge is a boutique vineyard in Alexandra, Central Otago, with the most amazing views across the vineyard to the mountains beyond. At Grey Ridge we offer free and relaxed Wine Tasting from the Cellar Door, along with wine by the glass and platters. The vineyard has only Pinot Noir vines, from which we make four different wines: a White Pinot Noir, a Pinot Rosé, and two Pinot Noir. They are all "Single Vineyard" wines, made from hand tended and hand picked grapes. Our accommodation in our Grey Ridge Vineyard Suite, or Orchard Studio, is spacious and completely private, and you are free to explore the gardens, terraces and the vineyard. When you stay with us your package includes a private vineyard tour with the owner, followed by a private wine tasting and a delicious breakfast the next day. If you would like to join your hosts for a casual home-cooked dinner, (with wine of course) so that you can relax rather than leave the vineyard again, be sure to book that option in advance.
Very welcoming and a fantastic set up. We enjoyed a thoroughly wonderful tasting with Sue and Paul and followed that with a great platter (and yes another glass of wine!!). Great story of the way they came to own the vineyard, and the challenges and successes they have had over the last 5 years. We heard about the cultivation, the winemaker in Alexandra, and the 5 wines they had to share (all 100% Pinot Noir), including a white wine!! Not the normal commercial wine tasting but a glimpse at a boutique operation with friendly, engaging and passionate owners. One of the highlights of our trip.

Elegant - Sensuous - Intimate. Award Winning Pinot Noir wines from Jacobson-Chiaroni family boutique vineyard. The wines produced from this vineyard have received many awards, showcasing the premium quality of Judge Rock wines. A romance not a blockbuster, feminine not masculine, balance not power, family not corporate, and love not lust. Come enjoy a tasting :)
Met Angela, one of the owners, who was lovely. Free tastings of 7 wines, all yummy but didn't make a purchase today. The 'Cellar Door' is part of her property and it's certainly a very 'homely' experience. Angela is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, worth a stop. Ziggy the cat made my day!

Pioneers, risk takers, brave, fighters. These are words that have been used to describe the founders of Black Ridge, one of the southernmost vineyards in the world and the oldest in the Central Otago region, planted in 1981. A decision to grow varieties found in the same latitude and climate in the northern hemisphere was wise. Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Breidecker, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon were chosen. Now with almost 40 years of vine age and experience you can taste and buy wines with a real sense of place and expressiveness here at our cellar door with amazing views over the Alexandra basin. Cellar door open from 11am till 5pm. 7 days from November - April and Mon-Fri from May - October.
Our Experience; A must do for wine lovers! It is one of the earliest vineyards planted in Central Otago and has a unique setting / location. Also - Challenge yourself to try something different from all the rest!! ie Old vine, 5 yr bottled aged Gerwurz, Briedecker, Cabernet rosé and current release PInot Noir comes already with 4yr bottle age! When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Ngarita, who gave us all the history of the site. With her vast passion for wine, her knowledge and her qualifications, we were able to discuss and learn more about wines, not only in the area, but the world. (Picked up some tips for our planned trip to Italy.) This cellar door is definitely worth the effort to visit! Cheers! PS The wines are great value and reasonably priced!

THE VINEYARD Drumsara Vineyard is located at 45 13'03.48" S 169 22'52.67" E , at 274 Hillview Road. We are situated high on the glacial outwash gravel plateau overlooking the Central Otago towns of Clyde and Alexandra. The vineyard has been developed on a 8 hectare site. The first plantings took place in 2000 and by 2006 the vineyard was full planted with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Pinot Gris vines. Extremes in temperature are common place. The lowest recorded temperature was -5.1C and the highest recorded on the 3rd February 2014 at a huge 46.4C degrees . Handcrafted in every respect - join us for a visit. THE WINERY - ALEXANDRA VINTNERS Drumsara joined with 4 other small vineyards to establish a micro winery of 250 tonnes. Headed by the very talented Antony Worch, a young Frenchman that has made Alexandra home for him and his family. Join us for a visit to a working winery down on the production floor. Perhaps take in the classical music being played to our Pinot's in the barrel room. THE CELLAR DOOR -THE NOSE RESTAURANT Our official cellar door can now be found at the Nose Restaurant at the Highlands Motorsport Park on the corner of SH6 & Sandflat Road, Cromwell. A tasting tray of the Drumsara range including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and VVS Pinot Rose, is on offer. Bottle sales are also available.
The Grasshopper Rock cellar door vertical tasting experience. In a vertical tasting of Grasshopper Rock Pinot Noir we look at different vintages of the same wine. This emphasizes differences between various vintages from the first vintage in 2006 from three year old vines through to the 2015 vintage from 12 year old vines. A fantastic learning experience that is rarely available.
