I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Botany Aquatic Centre the outdoor 50 metre pool is heated to 25 degrees Celsius. Very clean and the staff are extremely friendly. Around the pool there are lovely grassed areas to relax with umbrellas also. Great for a family swim and picnic.

Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre

About time a local council considered its constituents and gave people who are marginalised a chance to be healthy without the burden of being so out of pocket. It’s amazing that anyone with a healthcare card can enter the premises free of charge. The freedom this gives families and individuals is beyond words. Thankyou Ryde council for stepping up and honouring your promise to make health and wellbeing accessible to all. Great facility and staff.

Luna Park Sydney

Experience the Magic at Luna Park Sydney! Built in the 1930s, Luna Park is a harbour-side amusement park that still contains traditional midway games and rides. The Park is open year-round; generally every day during NSW School Holidays, and Friday to Monday during the school term. It is advised to check their website for current opening hours. Entry to the park is completely free, and the best way to experience the rides is to purchase an unlimited rides pass. Buy your tickets online and you are guaranteed to save money.

Its very convenient to get to Luna Park from the city or from anywhere. If you jump on the train you can get off at Milsons Point Train Station and then walk 8-10 mins to this venue. Otherwise, if you love ferries you can catch a ferry from Circular Quay and will drop you at Milsons Point Wharf. Once you get there you can have lots of fun in different attractions with your partner, family or friends. Also, you can get an annual pass for $99 that entitles you to unlimited rides.

Was a little apprehensive about renewing the passes this year. COVID and all that jazz. But with the handy little discount for renewing early and a hot summer with two young children to keep occupied we thought what the hell. So we tested the waters without the kids a few weeks ago, arrived at 10am when the gates opened and left at 4:30pm just before closing. Rode most of the slides without too much waiting. Got beds on the beach by the wave pool. Bit annoyed at no lazy river but here's hoping that reopens later in the season. Carted the kids off this weekend for their first visit of the summer, again 10am arrival, beds on the beach and straight to the slides. 5 slides and too over excited kids later and we chilled on the beach for a bit. Having been stung a little for extra food last year we planned ahead and filled the esky with water and fruit to get us through the day which lasted us pretty well, would recommend taking food with you and using it as a bit of downtime during the day if you have kids. Only downside was queueing for a slide that was shut, only to find out once we reached the top, but overall we all had a great day and all came away a little browner and a lot more exhausted. Many more days to spend over the coming months I imagine. Well worth the investment in the annual passes.
