We will begin to walk uphill along the coast, towards Sa Perda Stampada, a rock with a hole through which it is possible to admire the Coccorrocci beach; we will continue going down towards Foxi Manna, passing by the rock Su Brecconi and Cala Niedda. We will then visit the Nuraghe Aleri, a tholos nuraghe, built between 1500 and 1200 BC, which has an irregular five-lobed shape. After a break for lunch we will set off again, going up the south-western side of Punta Cartucceddu towards the Piscine di Monte Ferru, beautiful natural ponds carved by the erosion of the stream in the red porphyry rock. We will take a little break to freshen up before returning to the starting point.

December 2019 We have just had 3 days with Gianfranco and cannot recommend his guiding abilities too strongly. First day was an historical tour of Tortoli & Arbatax but outside the towns up on the hills finishing at the port in Arbatax. From prehistoric to WW2 in one day was absolutely fascinating. Day 2 was a 13 km walk some bits tougher than others but always amazing views. Day 3 was on the highest mountains to look at the lakes and villages topped off by a wine tasting at a very small producer of super Cannonau wine. On all 3 days Gianfranco’s enthusiasm and extensive knowledge kept us going from historical & geological to botanical & gastronomical all supplemented by vignettes of good conversation but without becoming too much. Plus the picnic stops are in just the right places! We had already booked our accommodation elsewhere but having met Juliet too I can imagine they are fantastic hosts. Please use Go Comida and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. September 2020 Back in Tortolì we have just used Gianfranco again for two walks. The standard of guiding, information and general conversation is still excellent. The day can be as hard or relaxing as you like so don’t think you’ve got to be super fit, Gianfranco will tune the day to your wishes and capabilities. Oh, and there’s even good coffee made on his gas stove at lunchtime! Again, can’t recommend Go Comida enough.

Ogliastra is one of the 5 "World Blue Zones". Research is still underway on the genetics of the local population in an attempt to discover the "youth gene". What affects Ogliastrine longevity? Come and discover it in this beautiful walk whose path takes place mainly on the plain with a slight gradient in the central part. It is suitable for all those who are in good health and have no walking disabilities. A walk where the mountain is kissed by the sea and where the flowing waters of the stream have dug the bear rock to create a spectacular theater of natural pools where you can also dip your toes to get refreshment. Route: 7 km Walk: 2,5h Gradient: +/- 80 m Difficulty: E - easy Transportation: Own car To bring: - Trainers - Comfortable clothes - Mask and gloves, disinfectant gel - Water, snacks - Hat, sunscreen - Swimsuit and towel (if you want a dip!)

The Tacchi are limestone rock formations; the remainder part following a long erosion (karst) process that began millions of years ago. Among all the Tacchi of the Ogliastra region, also called Tonneri in the south western side, Perda Liana is certainly the most peculiar. Perda Liana rises up to 1293 m asl and offers visitors breathtaking views. This excursion will also take us to visit another point, called Pitzu Margiani Pubusa (Spike of the fox and the hoopoe), from the top of which point, at 1324 m asl, you can admire the fascinating mountains of the heart of Sardinia, from the near Gennargentu to the Barbagia di Seulo.

The beauty of the Tacchi plateau is certainly confirmed by the beauty of the landscapes and the particularities that we find in the Osini area. In addition, however, here we find a gentle path with an uneven gradient that allows you to take an excursion even to those who are not really in good shape. However, this is a nice 13 km daily excursion that will take us to visit two caves and two nuraghi, one of which - Serbissi - is the only one in Sardinia to be built over a cave, which we will visit. Let us remember a torch for visiting the cave.
Inclusions: Entrance ticket to the Serbissi nuraghe, Excursion guided by a qualified and certified Environmental Hiking Guide

The Tacchi d’Ogliastra are limestone-dolomitic formations that cover a base of shales and whose name originates from the typical conformation similar to a shoe heel. They develop south of the Gennargentu chain and in their southernmost part (Ussassai / Seui), they also take the name of Tonneri. This excursion takes place in the Ulassai area where the Heels reach a particular majesty. A medium difficulty route suitable for the whole family, which goes through a mule track and cart track with an arboreal covering made up of oaks, strawberry trees and other shrubs and herbs typical of the Mediterranean scrub. A green paradise where the karst phenomenon has artfully created a set of walls, tunnels, cracks and caves, one of which will be the subject of our visit. Don't forget the camera to capture breathtaking panoramas!
