we have stopped here several times the park is maintained fairly well. Work campers on the gates have been great.
1 thing different was a pack of farrel cats roaming around. They are a major invasive species and it appears the park has chosen to ignore them. As I was told they had been there since last winter. These animals have no natural predator and kill many native species.
Sad and dangerous.

We reserved a spot, but requested to move to one of the "non-reserve" sites after arrival. They happily accommodated. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The grounds & deer are beautiful. Some areas do need to be mowed, some have stickers & some have more shade than others, but overall a great place to stay.

Very nice rustic park. Roads are a little rough going through but with over a mile of roads, you could probably expect it. We parked in one site but with our cell phone provider, we had no cell phone service. Our satellite wouldn't find signal either. We moved to another site in the park and now have cell and satellite. Happy campers!

Lake Whitney is the best lake in Texas! There are so many places to explore. McCown valley park is a nice, safe place to walk. Facilities are clean and in good order. Boat dock kept up well. Friendly gate attendants. Nice to see the wildlife too

This is a great place to shop! It's organized into booths with all types of vendors, so every vendor has different items from antiques to collectibles, furniture, glassware to new purses & jewelry. I enjoy going here because you never know what kind of treasures you will find. There is a great variety of items. Don't miss it if you are in the area!!!

Loved the way the light hit the lake and the walls of the dam. This place is great for photography. I hear the fishing is pretty good too.
