An authentic working seaport village dedicated to preserving the traditions and history of the Jersey baymen.
Could the tuckerton seaport use some sprucing up - sure - but walking the boardwalk and looking in the buildings on a "lazy day", took me back in time. The stories we were told about Mr. Parker in the decoy shop were very interesting Enjoyed walking to the top of the lighthouse and looking around that area....beautiful view. If my grandchildren have reports to do on estuary's and wildlife I will definitely be bringing them here.

good place for whats in the area. Have go carts and decent place to eat. The other activities were for smaller kids so my kids being 12+ it didn't fit our needs to the rides area. We did gocarts ans batting cages both were good. They also have bands in bar area at night if you can get a night out for adults/

Had lunch in the tavern by a beautiful wood burning fire. The meal was excellent, truly a significant notch up from previous visits. While the food has always been good here, it has gotten better.

after trudging through the seaport and being disappointed i came to this on thier top floor. I was very impressed at quality of the installation and the information. Who ever is incharge of this place should take over the rest of the seaport. It was obvious that these exhibits were professionally made and developed whereas the Seaports exhibits looked like a childs project.

I love SkyDive East Coast. They let me experience the biggest physically and psychological thrill of my life! From their warm welcome to their bottled water and couches, everything was great. CoffeeJ, the owner, is a character who loves his job. He showed us a video about skydiving and we signed on the dotted line. Joe and Luis were our guides and incredibly competent, experienced, friendly, and informative. [Joe is close to 17,000 jumps] They gave us instructions using a prop plane on what to expect, what to do, and what not to do. That really made me feel more comfortable.
The booking agency misinformed us that there would be a videographer and that 4 of us would be on the same plane. Still the GoPros on our guides’ arms were more than sufficient (check out my video), and I strongly recommend getting a video because it really showed me what I experienced!
Also only 2 of us at a time could be fit into the tiny plane, but that didn't really matter in the end because it was all about the skydiving. It was the most incredible, ineffable feeling in the world. It was like flying, as I didn’t feel like I was falling. It was more like 120mph wind was hold me up instead. I’m hooked! We are going to do it again this Fall – but book it directly with CoffeeJ this time.

We had a reservation at another local spot and when we arrived, the double we wanted had a hole in it. So they recommended West Creek. When we arrived, last minute and no reservations, the owner was so nice and accommodating and had a great sit in double kayak and rented it to us and said we had all the way until 5pm! :) He drove the kayak to the spot one minute away just down the block and loaded it at the edge of the water for us, gave us clean nice lifejackets and just said to call when we were done and he would pick us up! We had a great time kayaking, the waterway was really awesome and also led out to the open water. As soon as we called he was there to pick the kayak up in a minute! The whole process was so easy and we had a great day.

Almost all hiking trails start near the visitor center. They are well marked and easy. We parked near the visitor center and stopped in for our free maps and orientation. In front of the visitor center there is a nice photo exhibit featuring the history of this State Forest. Some parts of hiking trails are in the proximity of the Parkway.

Website has not been updated since 2010. Hard to find, no signs, and even if there were, parking is hard to find too. Pulled into adjacent shopping center and looked at building, which is in back of another business. No sign showing it is open, indeed no sign of the business whatsoever. Good thing we were driving through here and did not make this primary reason for visiting area. Disappointed.
