Excellent place for lunch, dinner and desert. Food was excellent and very cheap. Chocolate malt milkshake was fantastic. My son got mint chocolate chip but they didn't have sprinkles????? They also have a miniature golf course, driving range and general store.

If you merely enter “Tuscarora State Park” into the GPS, it will guide you to back gate that connects to the Crow Trail. You need to enter Lake Tuscarora into the GPS to arrive at the front of the park.
After arriving at the park, we visited briefly with a couple of park rangers and asked if there is anything that we should do, or not do, at the park. The rangers seemed at a loss for an answer. We found a map at the park office. If you plan to hike, look at the map very carefully. As an example, Lake View Trail does not go all the way around the lake. In fact, there is not any trail combination that will take you completely around the lake. Lake View Trail can lead you to Crow Trail. Near where these two trails intersect, you are near Locust Creek. We ended up doing primitive hiking through the brush, fording the creek, then locating the Spirit trail to arrive back at our starting place.
All-in-all, it was a good hike and we saw different things than what we usually see in Oklahoma.
TIP: Memorize the map as there are no signs on the trails.

At Galen Glen, we farm wine. Ancient glacial soils atop millions of years old sea fossils form our topography. The land was patiently waiting for us, yielding only scrawny crops for our ancestors. As 6th generation stewards of our farm, we sustainably and respectfully balance nature and science. Our wines reflect a delicate tension of acid and ripeness, punctuated by a powerful sense of location.
We were referred by the B & B where we were staying, they touted it as a fantatstic little winery, and supplied us with a list of wines to test and consider for a dinner the following night. The winery is beautiful, very well maintained,...MoreThanks for spending some time with us. We are delighted that you enjoyed the experience and our wines and look forward to seeing you on a future visit.

Haven't been here in years. Thought I'd give it a try again. Although most of my favorite vendors are still here, some of them have been replaced with cheap merchandise stands.
The Amish pie & dessert stand was still there. Only place in the area that makes homemade raisin pie!!!! Don't leave without getting a shoe fly pie, apple dumplings & their thick & moist peanut butter cookies.
Order the whole rotisserie chicken at the other Amish stand & don't forget the baked potatoes which are baked right under the chickens & covered in crispy chicken drippings. Stop at one of the farmers' stands for a fresh vegetable & you have your dinner to take home.
Great barbecue stand that not only serves brisket, baked beans, coke slaw, pulled pork but a pulled chicken sandwich served on a hearty roll.
Just ask anyone there, "where do I get that good cheese?" & everyone knows what you mean! The cheese stand has the best aged cheddar you'll ever eat!
All in all, the food here is fabulous but the shopping has turned from "a good deal" to "cheap stuff". Miss all the coin dealers from the past & the good quality clothing. Still some nice stuff (outdoor carpeting, antiques) but few & far between.

Tamaqua Community Art Center is a place to create, appreciate, learn ,and instruct in the fine & performing arts. Regularly scheduled art gallery showings, theater performances, and concerts.
I've attended a variety of shows from concerts, to theatre and attended art classes. Events are run by volunteers, programs have been top quality and I've been impressed by the low cost of all the events. All ages can enjoy something at the Tamaqua Community Art Center. Proud to have it in my hometown and encourage others to visit.

Turn of the century brick building filled with antiques, collectibles, local artisan, retro candy, and baked goods. The perfect place for an afternoon browse back in time. Great coal region friendly service housed in a beautiful historic building!
A nice antique shop near all the fun things in Tamaqua...railroad; great restaurants; shops and library. A fun walk around town. Parking is limited, you will probably have to park at a meter. They have a nice selection of antiques and collectibles in all price ranges.
